🤝NASUWT - The Teachers’ Union has called on Prime Minister Andy Burnham to honour Labour’s manifesto pledge to repeal the 50% turnout threshold for industrial action ballots, warning that the Government is now introducing unnecessary obstacles that risk delaying the abolition of one of the UK’s most controversial anti-trade union laws.

We're looking to build the list of supporting organisations for the West Midlands Against Racism Unity Rally.

If you're a member of a trade union branch, faith group, community organisation, campaign group, student group or any other local organisation, please consider asking them to add their logo in support of the rally.

A wide range of supporting organisations shows the strength and breadth of opposition to racism across the West Midlands and helps encourage others to get involved.

We're also asking organisations, branches and individuals to consider making a donation to help us build the biggest rally possible. Every contribution, large or small, helps us with publicity, materials and event costs.

If your organisation would like to support the rally or make a donation, please let us know and we'll send over the details. Every logo and every donation helps us build a stronger, more visible movement against racism.

Following the shocking death of Henry Nowak the far right rioted in Southampton, goaded on by Tommy Robinson. After a knife attack in Belfast, racist pogroms targeted migrants and 'foreign people , burning them out of their homes. Reform UK"s Nigel Farage and Restore Britain's Rupert Lowe have promoted these outrageous events.

🔹Since the 2024 riots the far right have continued to weaponise violence against women by scapegoating migrants and asylum seekers.

📣Meanwhile Reform UK have surged in the polls and are normalising racist and Islamophobic lies.

🔹The antiracist majority has to respond to to these dangerous racists and bigots.

🔥On 4 October we will celebrate the diverse, multicultural, multi faith West Midlands with a march and rally in Birmingham city centre.

We want the broadest possible coalition of organisations; trade unions, climate groups, faith groups, LGBT+ organisations, Palestine solidarity groups, and more.

📣 Bring your friends, family and colleagues to come together in unity and resistance to the hate, division and bigotry of the far right.
