HEY O&Aers… WE’RE BACK, BACK, BACK! 🎃🏳️‍🌈🖤

After missing our September meet-up, we are MORE than ready to get back together this Saturday for our October Out & About Midlands meet-up! 🍂✨

And because it’s October, we’re bringing a little spooky season energy with us… 🎃👻🧙‍♀️

Come and join us for a couple of drinks, plenty of laughs, catching up with old friends and, of course, making some new ones. Whether you’re a regular O&Aer or you’ve been thinking about coming along for the first time, you’re very welcome! ❤️

We’ll meet at The Fox to get the evening started, grab a drink and have a proper catch-up.

🍹 9pm – Eden
Then we’ll head over to Eden for more drinks, more laughs, more LGBTQ+ Birmingham nightlife… and possibly a little dancing! 💃🕺🏳️‍🌈

🚨 SEPTEMBER UPDATE! 🚨

In a little break from our usual routine, there won’t be an Out & About Midlands meet-up this September.

Our hosts have other commitments this month… I know, how very dare they have lives outside of Out & About! 🤣🤣🤣

But don’t worry — having a little break just means we’re going to be even more excited for our October meet-up! 🥳🏳️‍🌈

And although there isn’t an official O&A meet-up this month, there will still be plenty of O&Aers out having fun in the Gay Village on Saturday night! 🍻🏳️‍🌈

So, if you’re out and about and spot someone you recognise from our socials… go and say hi! 👋

After all, that’s what Out & About Midlands is all about — getting out, having fun and making new friends. ❤️

Calling all q***r book lovers! 🌈📚

We’ve got something a little different to share with you…

I’m part of an LGBTQ+ book group called Q***r Between The Lines (QBTL) and, after a little setback, it’s had a rebrand and refresh — and it’s back, bigger and better than ever! ❤️

QBTL is a q***r book club and LGBTQ+ reading group for anyone who loves a good book and wants to discover more LGBT and q***r stories, authors and characters. 🏳️‍🌈📖

We’ve just finished reading Young Mungo by Douglas Stuart and honestly… it ripped my heart out! 😭💔 What a book.

And today, our next book has just been announced! 📕✨

Each month we have a live group video call to chat about the book we’ve read, led by the wonderful Jayden, who is the person behind QBTL. It’s a lovely way to discover new books, share your thoughts and meet other people who love LGBTQ+ literature.

There’s also a brand new Instagram page where you can see what we’ve already read, find out what’s coming next and keep up with all things QBTL.

So, if you’re looking for an LGBTQ+ book club, q***r reading group, LGBT books or just a new group of people to talk books with…

🌈 What a Saturday! ❤️

Saturday was a proper Out & About Midlands kind of day! ☀️🏳️‍🌈

First up, some of our O&Aers headed to Solihull Pride for an afternoon of sunshine, music, fabulous performances and plenty of Pride spirit in Mell Square. The place was absolutely packed, the atmosphere was brilliant and everyone was out to have a great time! 🌈✨

Then it was time for our August Out & About Midlands meet-up! 🍻

We had a lovely turnout and it was so good to catch up with familiar faces, welcome new ones and enjoy another fantastic evening together. We started at Equator, where the atmosphere is always friendly, relaxed and welcoming, before heading over to Eden later in the evening.
And because apparently we weren't quite ready to call it a night… 😂🍹 once the official meet-up finished, the party mood continued and the group headed over to The Fox!

Lots of laughs, plenty of catching up and a whole lot of fun along the way. ❤️

This is exactly what Out & About Midlands is all about — good people, great nights out, new friendships and making memories together. 🥰

☀️ August's Out & About Midlands meet-up is this Saturday, 8th August – and we can't wait! 🏳️‍🌈

What a scorcher it's been since we last got together! After weeks of sunshine, it's the perfect excuse to spend a warm summer evening catching up with friends, sharing a few laughs, and enjoying a drink or two.

We'll be meeting from 7:30pm at Equator, before heading over to Eden at 9:00pm for the rest of the evening.

If you've been thinking about coming along but haven't quite taken the plunge, this could be the perfect time. Whether you're coming on your own, with a friend, or you're brand new to the group, you'll always find a warm welcome. Making new friends is what Out & About Midlands is all about.
If you have any questions before Saturday, just send us a message. We're always happy to help and make your first visit as comfortable as possible.

There's never been a better time to get out, enjoy a summer Saturday night, and meet some amazing new people. We hope to see lots of familiar faces and plenty of new ones too! 🌈💙

✨️Another huge act confirmed for Super Saturday at Eden!✨️

Eden have, this evening, announced a 3rd huge act for Saturday night. Not only are we getting La Voix and Linda Matthews but we're being spoiled further with Melissa Totten as Madonna on the main stage.

It's going to be an incredible night not to be missed. Get there early as its going to be a busy night.

Eden, what are you doing to us!

🌟 SUPER SATURDAY at Eden! 🌟

It may not be an official Out and About Midlands meet-up weekend, but we couldn't let this one pass without a mention!

This Saturday, our home venue, Eden Birmingham, is pulling out all the stops with not one, but TWO incredible live acts on the main stage. The fabulous Linda Matthews will be entertaining the crowd, and making a spectacular return is the one and only La Voix. Now a huge star of stage and screen, you can be sure she'll deliver a show to remember!

If you're heading into Birmingham this weekend, why not pop into Eden and enjoy what's shaping up to be an unforgettable night?

And if you've never been to an Out and About Midlands meet-up before but happen to recognise any of us from our photos, please come and say hello. We're a friendly bunch, always happy to welcome new faces and make new friends.
