Care to join us...? At The ExtraCare Charitable Trust, we have 3,831 homes within our Housing Schemes and Villages at different locations. These are available to older people in their local area for affordable rent, shared ownership and leasehold sale. Each Housing Scheme or Village has social, health and leisure facilities that are accessible to our residents and up to 5,000 older people across o
ur wider communities. Our Housing Schemes and Villages are supported by a team of 1,500 staff, recruited to work with us directly. Over 85% of our care staff are qualified to QCF (NVQ) Level 2 in Health and Social Care (the national training requirement is 50%). The Charity has Investors in People Silver Award status. Our staff need to truly believe in what we do and care passionately about delivering a great service. So we take real care to recruit the right people to join our team. Our ‘ExtraInsight’ induction programme introduces new staff to the way we do things and we provide ongoing training and development for everyone. Over 93% of our team is NVQ qualified, compared to a national target of 50% - what’s more we’ve been operating at this level for the best part of a decade.
