Nigel Farage asked trade unions to affiliate to Reform.

No thanks Nigel.

Scrapping the equality act, employment rights bill and renters reform act as a flagship Reform policy doesn't win my vote!

📢 Brilliant news on social housing in Thanet !!! This is what happens when councillors get on with the job and deliver for the community 👏

For years, Thanet District Council averaged just 18 new council homes a year. Despite the local demand for decent social housing.

Now? Thanet District Council Labour group are on track to deliver well over 600 council and 170 temporary accommodation homes.

Massively exceeding the original 400-home target and helping local families access secure, affordable housing.

That is a huge achievement for our community by Thanet District Council

A massive thank you to Cllr Helen Whitehead, Cabinet Member for Housing, Helen for Thanet and Labour councillors at Thanet District Council for pushing this programme forward and delivering real results for local people.

At a time when housing pressures are affecting so many families, this is exactly the kind of long-term investment communities need not headlines, but homes.

Investing in temporary accomodation in Thanet saves the Council money in the long term and keeps families in the community and children in local schools. Exactly where councils should be investing.

Really proud of everyone involved Labour Councilors and the Housing team at TDC who helped make this happen. 🏠❤️

Reform Councillors said they’d protect local community assets in Thanet. Then once elected at Kent County Council they started flogging them off and rubber stamping their sales - not what the community voted for.

Publicly owned spaces like Ramsgate Youth Centre/Pie Factory Music and the Sarah Thorne Theatre were put at risk — despite local Reform councillors making a big noise in Ramsgate and Broadstairs claiming this wouldn’t happen.

This is the reality of Reform in local government: selling off taxpayer-owned community assets, then staying quiet about it on Reform leaflets.

Meanwhile it was Labour-backed funding through Ramsgate Neighbourhood 'Pride in Place' that stepped in to help save Pie Factory Music, while the Director of Sarah Thorne Theatre self-funded the purchase to keep it alive and is now applying for further Pride in Place support.

That’s the difference.

Reform are selling off publicly owned spaces that communities built and rely on. Labour funding is helping save vital youth, music and theatre venues for future generations.

Questions must be raised whether Kent County Council can sell off locally publicly owned assets before it is reorganised and no longer exists.

I am very pleased that Pride in Place funding is reflecting the wishes of the community to protect community spaces for the future.
