Help Your Neighbour is an organisation purely focus on helping people in the UK currently targeting the Birmingham community
The project is aim at filling a gap in the Birmingham community where by there are thousands of people in Birmingham who can’t afford to buy essentially house hold Items. The project looks at what items are required to help people live a comfortable life and to make a hou
se a home. Help your Neighbour makes it easy for people in the community to donate furniture across the UK to benefit their local community. People are able to donate their excellent or very good quality furniture with ease using Help your Neighbour to help – and the people who need charitable support. By giving unwanted furniture, they are encouraging furniture reuse, helping the environment and people who otherwise might not be able to afford the furniture they need. No-one should be without a bed to sleep on, a cooker to cook on, or a sofa to sit on, wherever they live in the UK. We aim to relieve poverty and reduce waste by promoting the re-use of essential household furniture and electrical appliances to help people in need. We will have our drivers collecting items daily that are donated and delivering them to the client. This will help the client so there no cost incur to them in receiving items. Also protecting donors who which to have there identity protected. The UK is the world's six largest economy, yet 1 in 5 of the UK population live below our official poverty line, meaning that they experience life as a daily struggle. We believe it is unacceptable that over 13 million people in the UK do not have enough to live on. There are 3.5 million children living in poverty in the UK today. That’s 27 per cent of children, or more than one in four
Work does not provide a guaranteed route out of poverty in the UK. Two-thirds (66 per cent) of children growing up in poverty live in a family where at least one member works but they still cannot afford essentially house hold items we can help them. There is a massive need for household items in people house in Birmingham. Most people live in houses that are bare we aim to make a house a home by giving these essential items to people in need. At the same time there is a massive number of people thawing out house hold items every day because they no long like the colour of the sofa often you drive around the streets of Birmingham and you can see sofas, wardrobes white goods outside just waiting for the local council to collect the items. We are offering a solution to this cycle of life.
