Diamonds Community Learning Project CIC is built on a simple belief: people learn best when they feel they belong.

That belief sits at the heart of everything we do, and it’s reflected in the way we work every day.

💜 Belonging comes first.
Before any learning can happen, people need to feel safe, welcomed, and respected. Our sessions are spaces where individuals can arrive as they are and feel part of something.

💎 Learning that leads to real change.
Whether it’s ESOL, digital skills, or family learning, the focus is on practical, useful learning that supports everyday life — building confidence, independence, and opportunity.

🦄 Every learner is different.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach. Sessions are shaped around the people in the room, recognising different experiences, abilities, and ways of learning.

🪩 Confidence grows through doing.
We support people to use their voice — in conversations, in their community, and in their daily lives. Small steps lead to lasting change.

🩵 Growth takes time.
There is no rush. Progress is steady, supported, and built step by step.

This work is grounded in over 30 years of teaching experience, alongside a PGCE qualification, bringing together both educational practice and community understanding.

Diamonds is not just about learning — it is about creating spaces where people can grow in confidence, develop skills, and move forward in their lives.

If you had to describe yourself in five emojis, what would they be?

What this work really provides with grant funding is… confidence, independence, and the ability to take part in everyday life.

Through Diamonds Community Learning Project CIC, we use grant funding to make ESOL, digital skills, and life skills accessible to people in our communities who might otherwise be left out.

That means:

💎 adults learning English feel confident enough to speak, understand, and take part in daily life
💎 families are better able to navigate systems, support their children, and feel less overwhelmed
💎 communities have access to learning that is local, relevant, and actually works for them

Because this work isn’t about ticking boxes.

It’s about making sure opportunity is accessible — not just available.

And that’s what really matters.

One win I’ve had recently in my business is being named the third sector organisation engaging the most learners in ESOL classes for a funder in inner city Birmingham (from April 2025 to now) 🇬🇧💎🥳

For me, that matters because it means the work we’re doing through my own cic, Diamonds Community Learning Project CIC, is genuinely reaching the people who need it most.

Adults who might otherwise struggle to access learning are turning up, building confidence, and developing the English they need for everyday life.

Sometimes the win isn’t a flashy launch or a big online moment.

Sometimes the win is simply people walking through the door and learning.

🎉🥳💎💜

What wins are you celebrating (or trying to remember to!)?

Why did I create Diamonds Community Learning Project CIC in 2017?

Because I kept seeing the same thing happen.

People who were capable, curious and full of potential were being left out of learning opportunities that should have been open to them.

Some had come to the UK and needed English to build their lives.
Some had missed out on education earlier in life.
Some had the confidence knocked out of them and just needed a place where someone believed they could learn again.

And too often those people were trying to figure things out alone.

I wanted to create something different.

A place where people could walk in as they are, feel welcomed, and start building their confidence step by step.

A place where learning wasn’t about judgement or pressure, but about growing skills, voice and independence.

That’s why I created Diamonds Community Learning Project CIC (the non profit part ofJu Julie - Education and Learning)

Because I believe every person has brilliance inside them.

Sometimes it just needs the right space, the right support, and the right opportunity for that brilliance to shine. 💎

Grab a cuppa, settle down, and let me share the story behind Diamonds Community Learning Project CIC.

There was a time when I could see the gap clearly.

I was teaching adults learning English and watching what happened when someone finally found their voice. Confidence grew. Independence grew. Participation grew.

And yet access to that learning was fragile.

Funding would end.
Courses would disappear.
Families in deprived communities would be left waiting again.

At the same time, I was seeing the wider picture — digital exclusion, low confidence, parents wanting to support their children but not always having the language or systems to do so.

The gap between policy and lived reality was not theoretical. It was sitting in front of me every day.

And I remember thinking: this work is too important to depend on chance.

That’s why I started Diamonds Community Learning Project CIC.

Not as a hobby.
Not as a side project.
But as a structured, funded vehicle to make sure ESOL, digital skills, and life skills are accessible in communities where opportunity isn’t evenly distributed.

Because talent is everywhere.
Opportunity is not.

Diamonds exists to bridge that gap.

To secure grant funding so families don’t have to pay for essential skills.
To create child-friendly learning spaces where mums can attend with their children.
To build confidence, not just qualifications.
To make learning practical, accessible, and dignified.

I want to help sparkly families in deprived communities because I’ve seen what happens when someone finally feels capable instead of excluded.

The future I’m building looks like this:

Adults speaking English confidently in everyday life.
Families navigating digital systems independently.
Children seeing their parents learn and grow.
Communities strengthened from the inside out.

Not charity.

Opportunity.

Not temporary fixes.

Sustainable access.

And this time, communities don’t have to fight alone for it.

In our classes last week with Ju Julie - Education and Learning, we did one of our favourite lessons in Diamonds Community Learning Project CIC’s ESOL classes.

We explored how the English education system links to assessments and qualifications, and how that links to adult levels. The learners are now clearer where they are - and where they want to be.
