SLANDERED? Remember who knows the truth.

There may come a time when people speak about you, spread rumours or accuse you of things that are not true.

Even the Prophets عليهم السلام were insulted, accused and called names.

You may not be able to control people’s tongues, but you can control how you respond. Allah knows what is in your heart, and He knows the reality behind every word spoken about you.

Don’t allow somebody else’s rumours to consume you.

Allah knows the truth. That is what matters.

Allah conceals our faults… so why are we so quick to expose the faults of others?

Don’t search into people’s private matters. Don’t spread what Allah has concealed.

⚠️ The one who exposes others should fear that Allah may expose him too.

May Allah conceal our shortcomings and forgive us. آمين

Gossip and slander can cause damage far beyond the original words.

If you hear gossip, don’t become another link in the chain. Verify what you hear, think well of your Muslim brother or sister, make excuses for them, and guard your tongue.

If you are the one being slandered, have sabr. Correct what is true, reject what is false, defend your rights where necessary, and don’t allow the words of others to stop you from continuing to do good.

And if you have spread lies or slander, fear Allah and stop while there is still time. Delete what should be deleted, seek forgiveness from the person you have harmed, make tawbah, and repair what can be repaired.

A day will come when wealth and children will be of no benefit, and accounts will be settled with good deeds.

May Allah protect our tongues, our honour and our hearts. Ameen.

You shared it. You repeated it. You forwarded it. But did you ever stop to ask whether it was true?

Backbiting, slander and spreading rumours can feel like nothing more than a conversation or a quick message — but every word we speak and every post we share is something we will answer for before Allah.

Allah says:

“And do not backbite one another…”
Qur’an 49:12

Before you speak about someone, forward that message or share that post, ask yourself: Would I be happy to answer for this on the Day of Judgement?

Protect your tongue. Protect your keyboard. Protect your akhirah.

Slander is not a small sin.

To falsely accuse someone and destroy their honour can carry severe consequences in this life and the Hereafter. Words may leave your mouth in seconds, but the damage they cause can remain for years.

Islam places enormous importance on protecting people’s honour. Before repeating an accusation, sharing a post or forwarding a message, ask yourself:

Have I verified this?
Do I actually know it to be true?
Am I prepared to answer to Allah for spreading it?

A person may think they are simply “passing on information,” while in reality they could be committing a major sin and contributing to the destruction of another person’s reputation.

The tongue can cause damage that an apology cannot always repair.

Think before you speak. Verify before you share. Fear the consequences of slander.

🚨 BEFORE YOU SHARE IT… VERIFY IT.

We live in a time where gossip can travel to hundreds of people in seconds.

One message.
One screenshot.
One voice note.
One “I heard that…”

And suddenly, someone’s honour and reputation can be damaged.

Allah warns us:

“If an evildoer comes to you with news, verify it…”
— Qur’an 49:6

Not everything you hear should be repeated. Not every story should be forwarded. And just because something sounds “juicy” doesn’t make it permissible to spread.

Remember — what you say, type, post and forward is an amanah, and you may have to answer for it before Allah.

Before you share it — verify it.

Would you eat the flesh of your dead brother?

It sounds horrifying — and that is exactly the comparison Allah uses when warning us about backbiting.

Allah says:

“And do not backbite one another. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would detest it…”
Qur’an 49:12

When someone isn’t there to defend themselves, their honour can be torn apart with just a few words.

A conversation.
A WhatsApp message.
A comment.
A post.
A “Did you hear what happened…?”

It may feel small when we say it, but with Allah it can be a serious matter.

Before speaking about someone, ask yourself: Would I say this if they were standing in front of me?

Protect your tongue. Protect the honour of your brother and sister.

Can a boat build itself… but the universe created itself?

A powerful argument attributed to Imam Abu Hanifah رحمه الله:

If it is unreasonable to believe that a tree could fall, cut itself into pieces, assemble itself into a boat and carry someone across a river — all without anyone designing or directing it — then how can we look at the precision, order and complexity of the entire universe and claim it has no Creator?

The heavens, the earth, the sun, the moon, the changing of night and day — all operating with incredible order.

Creation points towards a Creator.

﴿أَمْ خُلِقُوا۟ مِنْ غَيْرِ شَىْءٍ أَمْ هُمُ ٱلْخَـٰلِقُونَ﴾

“Or were they created by nothing, or were they themselves the creators?”
[Qur’an 52:35]

The universe didn’t create itself.

Allah created it.

Nothing + nothing + nothing will never = everything.

The universe cannot create itself before it exists. Creation cannot be its own creator.

So where did everything come from?

There must be a Creator who is not created — One without beginning, without end, and upon whom all creation depends.

That Creator is Allah.

“Were they created by nothing, or were they themselves the creators?”
Qur’an 52:35
