British Dietetic Association The BDA is the professional association & trade union for UK dietitians.

The British Dietetic Association (BDA) is the only body in the UK representing the whole of the dietetic workforce. We are a trade union and professional body representing the professional, educational, public and workplace interests of our members. Founded in 1936, we are one of the oldest and most experienced dietetic organisations in the world.

Still time to have your say ⬇️

We know AHPs have impact, now let’s make sure it’s heard 🗣

NHS England is developing the AHP Framework for System Impact 2027–2032, and they’re calling for input across key themes like people, workforce, research and data.

These are core areas the BDA champions, and where you, our members, are making a real difference every day. Now’s the time to bring that experience into the conversation.

Share your perspective and help shape the future direction via the survey link in the comments ⬇

Let’s make sure dietetics is recognised not just for what you do, but for the impact you have at every level.

With wildfires and extreme weather pushing up food prices, the fragility of the UK food system is increasingly obvious. Diet-related disease is at a record high and healthy food is unaffordable for too many families.

This broken food system is working against us.

That’s why in July we signed a letter alongside 100+ food system leaders, calling on the new Prime Minister to make food a national priority, alongside energy, health, and defence. Join us in calling for a Good Food Bill to lock in long-term change.

Last chance to register! Join the BDA England Board's workshop tomorrow and help shape the future of AHP system impact.

The Office of the Chief Allied Health Professions Officer (CAHPO) is developing a new professional framework for allied health professionals (AHPs) (2027-2032) to set the long-term vision, direction and ambition for the 14 registered allied health professions within the health and care system, aligned with national policy and wider NHS delivery strategies.

The framework will cement the significant progress made in the past 10 years and enable AHPs to navigate strategic change, advance personalised and patient-focused care, and foster a flexible, future-ready workforce.

This interactive workshop is for any BDA member who would like to inform the development of the framework and will form the basis of a BDA / BDA England Board response.
