Just want to say a massive thank you to Elaine Thomas & her husband Mark who has been on a mad home cooked batch fest of home cooked dinners for us & filled 3 freezers of delicious dinners & puddings for us to heat every week ❤️
Also Tina Townsend who cooks fresh for me every other week like tonight ❤️
These 2 ladies never get the recognition for what they do in the background, but that’s why the homeless eat flavoursome home cooked food every week because of these 2 wonderful invisible heroes ❤️❤️

Something of a straightforward and uneventful shift tonight. We like those! The weather was typical for the end of a Spring day; clear skies, but breezy with the temperature getting cooler quickly. But as ever, we started with 4 choices of hot food (lamb dinner, campfire stew, veggie lasagne - thanks Elaine), sandwiches (thanks Pam), clothes, toiletries, hot && cold drinks, gloves / hats / socks / boxers and sleeping bags.
And again, as usual, we ended up with nothing.
Tonight's mega-heroes were:
Janet Halpin
Adamson
Wall
Katie Webber and Frank
Bevins
Ian Miller

Just want to say a massive good luck to Olivia who is running the London Marathon for our charity today 🏃🏃🏃

There was only a small, but perfectly formed group of 5 us tonight, so we were limited to what we could take with us to hand out. So we dropped the clothes, and went for hot food (Elaine's veggie lasagne, beef casserole, campfire stew and shepherd's pie), cold food from Greggs, hot and cold drinks, toiletries and a few assorted socks, hats, etc. Apart from the guys dressed and acting like clowns, it was a pretty calm night, but it was surprisingly cold for what had been a warm day earlier.
Tonight's bunch of heroes were;
Wall
Adamson
Gilchrist
Janet Halpin
Ian Miller

What a cold and eventful night that was! We had to intervene in a confrontation, got overwhelmed early on, had a complete stranger donate £100 to us and had a 3-way kick about with a homeless guy who somehow got a football. The old skills are still there 😀
As usual, we started with hot food (pork dinner, beef stew, veggie lasagne, b&b pudding - thanks Elaine), sandwiches (thanks Pam), banana loaf (thanks Janet), toiletries, hot drinks, clothes, hats, sundries and sleeping bags. And as usual, we returned empty handed. Tonight's keepers of the peace were:
John Flanagan
Pam Adamson
James Wall
Zoe Daye and Pratik
Vim Dviza
Katie Webber and Frank
Janet Halpin
Ian Miller

Beautifully warm outreach 😎
An extremely busy night full of addiction & extremely volatile at times, but we survived lol 🤣🤣 we’ve had worse!! The weather encouraged the masses of groups of teenagers within the city centre too 🙄

With just 6 this evening, we loaded up & headed off with more than we could carry & tonight we were armed with quite a selection of food. Fish pie, beef casserole or Chinese chicken curry followed by crumble or cake with custard, Lots of Greggs, cold drinks, crisps, chocolate, toiletries ( thanks Pete) clothes, warm stuff, hot drinks, sleeping bags & we run out of everything 👏👏

Tonight my patient saints whom I’m forever grateful for were

Janet Halpin
John Simpson
Ian Miller
Julani
Pete Bevins

Enjoy the rest of your week 😉

Tonight was one of those "bonkers" nights. We had everything. Confrontation, being encroached, getting swamped, getting inappropriately hugged, being ranted at, plus all the usual positive stuff. But we got through unscathed as usual, and were cleaned out of everything we took out; hot food (beef stew, chicken dinner, fish pie, veggie mash - thanks Elaine), sandwiches (thanks Janet), hot drinks, toiletries, clothes and sleeping bags. And we finished just before the rain started. Tonight's stars were:
Janet Halpin
Allen
Palmer
Aiden Greene
Webber & first timer Frank
Ian Miller

(Hope you enjoyed it tonight Frank)
