Finally a big shout out to the members of Birmingham Hospice Kings Norton Fundraising Group, for all their hard work preparing & facilitating the quiz night.
We look forward to seeing you all again in 2026 & our first quiz of the year will be on Monday 9th March 2026. Further details will be posted in the new year.

We would love you to join us in volunteering at Treecycling 2026.

Treecycling raises over £100,000 for the Birmingham hospice each year, by collecting and recycling over 5,000 used Christmas trees from supporters’ doorsteps across Birmingham and Solihull.

Trees are collected from the following postcodes - B13, B14, B15, B16, B17, B23, B24, B26, B27, B28, B29, B30, B31, B32, B33, B34, B35, B36, B37, B38, B42, B43, B44, B45, B46, B47, B62, B67, B68, B72, B73, B74, B75, B76, B90, B91, B92, B93, B94

The collection weekend is the 10th and 11th January 2026, the hospice are actively recruiting volunteers and eagerly looking forward to another successful Treecycling season.

There are lots of ways that you could help:
• Collecting trees or helping at the disposal sites on Saturday the 10th and Sunday the 11th January 2026.
• If you have vehicles that you could use, that would be a huge help. Otherwise, if you are happy to drive a rental van, we can arrange this.
• Distributing Treecycling leaflets around your local area through local letterbox deliveries.

If you can help in any way, please register here: https://www.birminghamhospice.org.uk/volunteer-for-treecycling/

Today, we'd like to highlight one of our wonderful community groups, the Kings Norton Fundraising Group!

They are currently looking for new members to help them with their various local events.

Elaine, Chair of the group, says: "We are a small group of friendly people, who raise funds for Birmingham Hospice and volunteer at hospice events. Each of us has a personal reason or a connection to the hospice, which is why we support this local charity.

" Our fundraising group was formed 12 years ago and to date we have raised in excess of £30,000. We all live in the south of the city (not just in Kings Norton) and meet one evening a month to discuss future fundraising activities.

"The main way we raise money is by running quarterly quiz nights, which we all help to plan and run. We are looking for new members to join our group to assist us with quiz nights and to bring new ideas on how we can raise funds."

Today we went to Herd HQ to see our tribute to our loved one on Astro the Memrobull🥰🐂, which is part of Bulls in the City. We were touched to see tributes from our quiz goers to their loved ones. There was also a star dedicated to Eileen McCann, a founding member of our group and an ambassador for Birmingham Hospice, sadly missed by so many of us.😪
