We are delighted to announce that our Co-Founder and Director, Charlie Appleyard, has been awarded an MBE in His Majesty The King’s Birthday Honours List for services to people with Parkinson’s and Fundraising.

While this recognition was never the reason Charlie founded Sport Parkinson's, his vision has always been to create more opportunities for people living with Parkinson’s to be active, connected and supported through sport and exercise.

Charlie is deeply humbled to receive this honour and shares it with the entire Parkinson’s community, whose determination and inspiration continue to drive our work.

Congratulations, Charlie and thank you for your unwavering commitment to improving lives of those in our community.

At Sport Parkinson's, we greatly value the feedback we receive from our community. The Walking Football Tournament held in April at St George's Park was a tremendous success, and the positive comments from attendees were a testament to the day's achievements.

The event photos featured on our website are free to download and share with friends, family, and others in the community who may be interested in joining us at future events.

72 Holes. 24 Hours. 9 Years with Parkinson’s.

Nine years after his Parkinson’s diagnosis and just two years after taking up golf, Garen Williams is taking on an incredible challenge, playing 72 holes in 24 hours to raise funds for Sport Parkinson’s.

As Co-Founder and Director of Sport Parkinson’s, this challenge is deeply personal and highlights the power of sport and exercise in helping people live well with Parkinson’s.

Good luck, Garen Williams!

Whilst some of our community are representing us at the World Parkinson Congress in Phoenix, USA, gathering the latest information on Parkinson’s, we’re reminded more than ever how important community is to us all.

Please don’t let people living with Parkinson’s face it alone. Reach out, include them, and help them stay active and connected with friends.

Football is a wonderful way to do that, but it can be anything that gets people moving together. Living with Parkinson’s is hard enough without the added challenge of isolation.
