🚨 According to fresh ONS data, UK mums earn £302 less per week than dads, which is nearly 20% less per hour.
That’s why 1 September is now “Mums’ Equal Pay Day” - the day mothers effectively start working for free compared to fathers.

Why?
📉 Childcare costs that don’t add up.
💼 Maternity discrimination.
🔄 Too few flexible, well-paid roles.
🍼 Parental leave that still reinforces old-school gender norms.

And it’s not just weekly pay - the gap follows women into pensions and long-term security.
