📣 An Update from Pentland PTA 💙

We wanted to share that the Pentland PTA is officially wrapping up.

Over the past year, we’ve had the absolute joy of supporting the children, staff, and families of Pentland Primary—whether we were getting covered in paint at the Colour Run, dancing in the sunshine at the Summer Fair, or spreading festive cheer at the Christmas Fair. Every event was packed with laughter, smiles, and magical memories.

Our mission has always been simple: to create special moments for our school community while raising a few extra pennies to help our children flourish, learn, and thrive. Whether it was buying resources, supporting events, or simply making school life a little more fun—we’ve been proud to play our part.

After pausing activities last summer, and with no further updates from the school about the PTA’s future, we’ve taken the decision to officially bring this chapter to a close.

Thank you to every staff member, parent, carer, and volunteer who cheered us on, rolled up their sleeves, or simply turned up to join in the fun. You helped make the magic happen. 💫

32 days left!!! We’re already raised a lovely amount let’s keep going!

Download the Asda rewards app. So many of you probably do, the cash back and savings are awesome.

The PTA are paused while the school gets sorted and the amazing team are on track but, in the mean time while we are waiting to get going again, please add our school to your cash pot on your Asda rewards app.

Every time you add us, we get £1 for the school pot and when you spend a little bit is added too.

This scheme ends 30th Nov and the money should be in the bank for the spring term.

It’s as easy as 1,2,3
1. Download the Asda Rewards app, register and opt-in to Cashpot for Schools
2. Choose our Primary School – either searching by name or postcode
3. Shop instore across Asda and George, or online at Asda.com and start filling your Cashpot as you shop

Between 2nd September and 30th November 2024 – every time you shop with Asda using your Asda Rewards app, Asda will donate 0.5% of the value of your shop to your chosen Primary school. Also, every time somebody opts-in to support our Primary school, Asda will give an additional £1 to the school Cashpot. Plus, it doesn’t stop there – Asda are also giving £50 to every school to get them started.

BACK TO SCHOOL TOMORROW!!!

We are so excited for school to start tomorrow. We are ready to welcome the new head teacher and all the new teachers! It’s gonna be an amazing year!

Pentland Primary School END OF YEAR POEM

In the halls of Pentland, the end of the year,
Whispers of farewells and memories clear.
Miss Robinson at her desk, with her usual grace,
Bids each student goodbye, with a warm embrace.

For some, it’s the end, new horizons await,
With dreams of the future, they step through the gate.
Leaving behind, the classrooms and friends,
Embarking on journeys where the path never ends.

Others will return, as the seasons renew,
With books and new stories, and skies bright blue.
Ready to learn, to laugh, and to grow,
In the nurturing space where dreams overflow.

Parents, good luck, as the summer unfolds,
Six weeks of adventures, both new and old.
May patience and joy be your guiding light,
As you navigate days from morning till night.

Pentland’s doors close, but just for a while,
Soon to reopen, with Mrs. Hamilton’s kind smile.
The end and beginning, a cycle so dear,
Wishing you all a wonderful year.

Thank you for all the memories you’ve give us this year,
We leave for now so proud, definitely shed a tear.
Pentland PTA wish you all the very best.
It’s now time us to go for a well earned rest.

Head up for parents....Tesco have 25% off school uniform today lasting one week.

I've been to both Durham Road and Billingham and both are well stocked....for now!

Billingham actually has both blue jumpers and cardis for a once too.

Always with us.

At Pentland Primary, hearts now sway,
As cherished guides prepare to stray,
From hallways echoing laughter’s song,
Their legacies, forever strong.

Mr. Hill, with wisdom bright,
Kindled minds, a guiding light.
Math and science, arts entwined,
In each young heart, your spirit shined.

Miss Watson, with stories spun,
Lit the path for everyone.
Through history's tales, you led with grace,
Leaving wonder in your place.

Mrs. Bowe, with patience vast,
Helped each child to learn and grasp.
In every lesson, every cheer,
You planted seeds that grew each year.

Miss Dobson’s creative flair,
Filled each room with love and care.
Through her eyes, the world looked new,
A kaleidoscope of every hue.

Miss Raven, our guiding star,
Teaching assistant, near and far.
With gentle hands and open heart,
She played a most essential part.

Mrs. Heslop, steadfast and true,
A teaching assistant through and through.
With quiet strength, she helped them soar,
Unlocking dreams and so much more.

Mrs. Sykes, with tender care,
Nursery’s world, you did repair.
With every song and gentle smile,
You made each day so worthwhile.

Kyle, our volunteer so grand,
Lent a helping, caring hand.
With selfless heart and endless cheer,
You made each moment shine so clear.

Mr. Ramreka, with passion bold,
Inspired young minds to unfold.
Through challenges, you led the way,
Guiding them to brighter days.

Miss Palmer, with a heart so kind,
Nurtured each and every mind.
Her gentle touch and patient grace,
Left a mark time can’t erase.

Mrs. Fryett, the deputy kind,
Held the school with steadfast mind.
Balancing care and firm command,
A steady rock on which we stand.

Miss Robinson, our head so dear,
Led with vision, calm and clear.
Her voice a beacon, wise and true,
She built a dream that others knew.

As they leave, a bittersweet refrain,
Pentland’s halls will speak their names.
In every corner, every child’s smile,
They’ll walk with us, mile by mile.

So we bid farewell, not goodbye,
For their spirits ever nigh.
In every heart and every face,
Their love and wisdom find their place.

Following on from yesterday’s adventure down memory lane. We found this absolutely delightful piece.
