Conservative councillor highlights his own failiue. If you can get a pothole fixed in 28 days Shaun why do we have so many potholes. What have you been doing?

MISLEADING

This photo relates to a scheme launched in 2011 by the Conservative administration at the time.

This photo has been shared by a number of local politicians suggesting that street lights are being turned off under a new scheme, which is not the case.

💡 Following my petition back in November (thanks again to the thousands that signed!), Oxfordshire County Council withdrew their plans to turn off the majority of street lights after 11pm. Earlier this month the Deputy Leader of the Council confirmed: "Part-night lighting will only be implemented if it has been locally requested and, following a formal consultation process". The consultation was due to happen in May (after the local elections) with a decision planned for July.

So I was more than a little surprised to be sent this photo which seems to suggest OCC are implementing the policy regardless. I have written to the Leader of the Council this evening asking for urgent clarification of their position.
