Macmillan Beverley Carol Concert Celebrate Christmas in the magical setting of Beverley Minster
on December 9th 2025. Hosted by a volunteer group.

Set amongst the beautiful trees of the Christmas Tree Festival, this is an evening not to be missed. We are a group of passionate volunteers who host the annual Christmas Concert at Beverley Minister. This magical Christmas concert has a wonderful mix of spectacular musical performances from local artists and moving readings in the beautiful setting of Beverley Minster. The event raises much needed funds to help to provide cancer care services to patients and their families in the East Riding.

What a fabulous evening at Beverley Minster for the annual Christmas concert. All the performers and speakers were amazing, as was our compere Phil White and the packed audience. Lots of bells were jingled, carols were sung and buckets were rattled. Thank you to everyone who joined us this evening. You help make a real difference to people affected by cancer in East Yorkshire.

We’re absolutely delighted to welcome the wonderful Edwina Hayes to our line-up of talented local performers at the Macmillan Christmas Concert in Beverley Minster on Tuesday, 9th December.

Edwina is widely regarded as one of the finest female singer/songwriters this country has produced in years. Blending English folk, Americana, and the rich Northern songwriting tradition, she has a sound that is unmistakably and beautifully her own.

Her career highlights are as impressive as her artistry:
✨ Toured with Jools Holland
✨ Supported Van Morrison
✨ Performed alongside Nanci Griffith
✨ Shared stages with Loudon Wainwright III

Her voice is warm and pure, her storytelling captivating, and her performances always deeply moving - the perfect addition to a magical evening set among 150 illuminated Christmas trees of the Minster's Christmas Tree Festival.

We’re delighted that the brilliant Jenny Bray will be taking to the stage at Beverley Minster on Tuesday, 9th December, performing as part of our Macmillan Christmas Concert during the Christmas Tree Festival.

Jenny is a much-loved local musician with a rich musical background. A classically trained singer and pianist, she studied at Leeds University and has since built a vibrant career in East Yorkshire and beyond. Jenny performs everything from classical repertoire to jazz and contemporary music, and is well known for her soulful vocals, sensitive musicianship and warm stage presence.

She regularly performs at concerts, festivals and community events across the region, and her collaborations with other local artists have made her a familiar and much-respected figure on the East Yorkshire music scene.

We’re thrilled to welcome her to this year’s concert, where she’ll be performing alongside a whole range of talented local artists - all coming together to support Macmillan’s vital work and bring some extra festive magic to the Minster.

We are thrilled to welcome Lesley Locke to the stage at Beverley Minster on Tuesday 9th December, where she’ll be performing as part of our magical Macmillan Christmas Concert set among 150 glittering trees.

Originally from Northern Ireland, Lesley’s musical journey has taken her across Europe and onto some truly remarkable stages. After studying at Trinity College of Music, London, she embarked on a vibrant freelance career, performing with major orchestras and leading the Dennison String Quartet.

Her experience includes:
✨ TV appearances and live performances with Vanessa Mae for the BBC
✨ Playing with the Gypsy Jazz band Blue Jar, recording two albums
✨ Touring Denmark with Peter Gabriel
✨ Many years performing in Cyprus
✨ And now - bringing her exceptional talent to Yorkshire

Since moving to the region, Lesley has built a wonderfully active musical life, performing solo, with local string quartets, and with the East Riding Concert Orchestra. Her playing is full of warmth, skill and spirit - and we can’t wait for you to hear her in the stunning setting of the Minster.

Lesley is just one of a fantastic range of local performers coming together to support Macmillan and celebrate the festive season in unforgettable style.

The Macmillan Christmas Concert returns on Tuesday, 9th December, filling the Minster with beautiful music, heartfelt stories, and the soft glow of 150 twinkling Christmas trees.

Along with Positive Note, a remarkable choir made up of people whose lives have been touched by cancer, there'll be a wonderful line-up of local musicians and singers, including Edwina Hayes, saxophonist Mike Anderson, violinist Lesley Locke, Inspire School of Dance and Drama, and Answers on a Postcard, all guided through the evening by Phil White, much-loved broadcaster and host.

Come, listen, reflect - and help support Macmillan Cancer Support’s work across East Yorkshire.

This year's Macmillan Christmas Concert at Beverley Minster promises to be a magical, uplifting evening of music and song from some of the area’s most talented performers. One of the highlights will be a performance from the Positive Note Choir, a remarkable group that embodies hope, courage and community.

Founded in 2014 at the Queen’s Centre at Castle Hill Hospital, the choir brings together current cancer patients, people recovering from treatment, family members and the medical staff who care for them.

They sing together, laugh together, support one another - and create the most uplifting sound. Their performances are full of emotion, resilience and joy, and we’re honoured to welcome them to the Minster.

Come along, soak up the music and the magic of the Christmas Tree Festival, and help support Macmillan’s vital work locally. The concert takes place on Tuesday, 9th December.

This December, Beverley Minster will be filled with music, reflection and festive magic as the Macmillan Christmas Concert returns — set against a breathtaking backdrop of 150 sparkling Christmas trees from the Minster’s famous festival.

At the heart of the evening are exceptional local performers, including a local choir made up of people whose lives have been touched by cancer. Every performance will create a truly unforgettable night in support of Macmillan.

Book your ticket for Macmillan's 20th Anniversary Christmas Concert and enjoy a special preview* of the Minster’s stunning Christmas Tree Festival before it opens to the public. 🎄✨ As you arrive, our decorators will have only just placed the last baubles and tinsel, so you’ll be among the first to see this magical display.

Doors open at 6:15pm—arrive early to sip on a glass of mulled wine, enjoy a mince pie, and take in the beauty of the trees before our unforgettable evening of music and song begins. 🎶 Let’s come together to raise the roof and raise essential funds for those affected by cancer in East Yorkshire.

All proceeds benefit Macmillan Cancer Support in East Yorkshire.
