A reflective crafternoon this week ahead of Remembrance Day, where we recycled an old, unwanted felt scarf and blouse into poppies that we can wear to remember fallen service members and the sacrifice they made.

CRAFTERNOON IS NOT ON NEXT WEEK due to unforeseen staff matters, but we will be back the following week (18 November) when we start our festive crafting🎄🎄 hope to see you then.

The Age UK Northumberland Big Knit is back. Get knitting to help raise money for the vital services Age UK provides. The patterns are online and the beauty of the tiny hats is that you can use up all your part balls of wool to knit them :).

The Big Knit is back! We’re calling on all knitters to use their… woolpower to help us smash our target! 🧶

We’re thrilled to be taking part in the Age UK and innocent Big Knit 2026-28 campaign once again. Every little hat knitted raises 30p to help us provide vital services and support to older people across Northumberland.

Crafternoon is on this afternoon between 1.00pm and 3.00pm at Berwick Voluntary Centre, 5 Tweed Street, Berwick.

This week we're crafting poppies ahead of Remembrance Day. There's opportunity to make a poppy brooch or paper poppies for our window display. We hope to see you this afternoon.

Crafternoon is a free craft group for people of all crafting abilities, it meets every Wednesday at Berwick Voluntary Centre. There's no need to book, just come along, the kettle will be on.

A busy crafternoon this week, the final one before Halloween, with lots of spooky crafting going on. We also welcomed some new people to the group, hopefully we didn't scare them off and they will come back.

Ahead of Remembrance Day, at next week's crafternoon we will be focusing on poppies, although you can of course bring your own craft project if you would like.

Crafternoon is a free craft group, it meets every Wednesday between 1.00pm and 3.00pm at Berwick Voluntary Centre, 5 Tweed Street, Berwick. There is no need to book a place, just come along, the kettle is always on.

Only a couple of days left until the big day (Halloween, not Christmas). Join us tomorrow 1.00pm-3.00pm for the final Halloween crafternoon session this year.

We'll be crafting pumpkins, ghosts, signs and other Halloweeny things, you can always bring your own craft project if Halloween is not your thing.

The North East Regional Organised Crime Unit have advised that there is a growing trend with scammers using WhatsApp to take over mobile devices, gain access to banking apps and empty accounts.

Fraudsters impersonating police officers, banking staff and the FCA are cold calling victims about fraudulent activity on their accounts.

They ask victims to move the conversation onto WhatsApp and are asked to share their screen. In some instances, the victim is asked to click on a link. Some victims have had their bank accounts emptied in this manner.
