Thankyou to everyone that has sent an enquiry about the new community shop , currently we are working our way through responses and will be in touch as soon as possible . I thought however I would write a more detailed description of our services to help in the meantime.
The shop is designed to be a helping hand for all . We understand that the cost of living affects us all and we are trying to create a sustainable solution to support the community .
To clarify , we are not a Food bank , we are a shop offering subsidised priced food and essentials where you shop using points. Each item has a points value and you may select what you would like to purchase upto a value of 20 points. The total value of your shop would then be £5 . You can spend as much or as little as required of the 20 points and make payment accordingly.
You are welcome to spend a maximum of £5 per visit . You can attend on both sessions each week Mondays and Thursday . Please note the time changes on the bank holiday week only .
You shop as you would in any other retail outlet and all we ask is that you bring a bag to put your groceries in .
We offer a wide range of tinned food , packets , fresh vegetables , bread , milk , cheeses , toiletries , nappies and household items.
Unfortunately we cannot accept referrals for food parcels and would signpost you to DENS if you need this kind of support.
If you need an emergency supply of food we would then signpost you to our hubs where you can find items available . We cannot however guarantee which items will be available at these hubs as stock may vary depending on donations .
I hope this explains the concept .
Should you wish to donate food then please either attend the shop during opening hours or email us to arrange a collection .

We appreciate your support and look forward to welcoming you to The Food Hub .
