Feels like we haven’t had a birthday for ages. This week it was Cliffs 🎂🥳

Yay 🥳 Lily is back from her travels in Africa. Lily is Mary’s daughter and regularly helps us out at Cosy Club when she’s home from Uni. She just spent 6 weeks on an internship in Arusha, Tanzania, working with young children that live in very poor, remote areas with limited access to sports equipment or fun activities.
Through Meru Warriors, she worked as part of a program to bring these children together to play sports, keep them active and away from crime. She sent us updates (through Mary) every week about the work she was doing and we’ve watched her grow from a nervous young girl into confident and very capable woman. We at Cosy Club have been doing raffles most weeks she’s been away to help Lily raise some very much needed funds to help pay for some sports equipment, footballs, netballs, some metal to fix their goalposts and a lawnmower for their very overgrown pitch. We’re so proud of her and the work she’s done and we all really enjoyed hearing her stories yesterday. We may be helping her continue her good work by sending some supplies out to them in the future. Things like old football boots or trainers and sports clothing. We’ll keep you posted if this goes ahead. We can’t wait to see what this young woman does next as I’m sure she’s not done with her adventures yet.

Our Linda’s birthday this week so she decided we should all have a gin and tonic to celebrate. Followed by a local knowledge quiz from Mike. What a lovely day and this is how it’s ended up. T-rex is finishing up the leftover cake 🦖🍰😂
