On behalf of everyone at Legacy Network we want to say a huge thank you to the Ulster Tower Street Community Group, and those members of the David Ervine Memorial Garden Committee who spearheaded the reimaging project of David Ervineโs mural in East Belfast. It is great to see this self-funded grassroots initiative finally come to fruition restoring to East Belfast a fitting and special tribute to David Ervine just yards away from where he was born.

Legacy Network members were proud to attend the unveiling of this newly re-imagined mural especially on the 19th anniversary of his passing. It is once again. a fitting and respectful tribute to a man who continues to loom large in the story of loyalism and working-class Belfast.
The unveiling ceremony itself was something special. PUP leader Russell Watton, PUP Chairman Brian Lacey, Jim โBimboโ Wilson, Davidโs brother Brian Ervine and Chris Hudson each shared personal reflections, reminding everyone present of Davidโs courage, honesty, and willingness to challenge his own community to think differently. His voice is still missed.
There was also a fantastic turnout from across East Belfast, with people braving the weather to show their respect. Nineteen years on from his passing, it was a powerful reminder that David Ervineโs ideas and influence are still an example to people.
Huge credit is due to Jim โBimboโ Wilson, John Williamson, the wider David Ervine Memorial Garden sub-committee, and the Ulster Tower Street Community Association. Their commitment drove this project forward, raised the necessary funds, and helped regenerate a meaningful space in memory of a significant figure.
