Visitor Notice: Temporary Boardwalk Closure ⛔️

If you're planning a walk on Divis over the next few weeks, please be aware that the boardwalk at the end of the Ridge Trail is temporarily closed while we carry out essential replacement works.

You can still enjoy the Ridge Trail as normal, but there is no through access across the boardwalk. Once you reach the closure, you'll need to retrace your steps back along the trail. The return walk is approximately 7.4km.

We know this may be disappointing, but these improvements are an important part of caring for Divis. Replacing the ageing boardwalk will help protect the fragile peatland beneath your feet, improve accessibility, and ensure this much loved route can be enjoyed for years to come.

This work also forms part of Divis: A View to the Future, our long term project to restore nature, improve access, and create a more resilient landscape for both people and wildlife.

The works are expected to take 10 to 12 weeks. Thank you for your patience while we invest in the future of this special place.

"Fake it till you make it."

Meet the narrow-bordered bee hawk-moth. From its fuzzy body to its rapid wingbeats and even the little pre-flight wiggle, it's all designed to convince predators it's carrying a sting.

Spoiler: it isn't.

Instead, this harmless moth spends its summer hovering between flowers, helping to pollinate our wild plants while fooling almost everyone it meets.

Sometimes, looking like the toughest insect in the meadow is all the protection you need.
