Belfast & District Trades Union Council BDTUC legal status is as a ‘Friendly Society’ since its inception and foundation in 1881 and is made up of around 40 members.

Belfast & District Trades Union Council brings together trade unionists from across the greater Belfast area to campaign on issues important to our communities. The aim of our organisation is to campaign, lobby, sustain and create new activism which seeks to promote democratic debate on the themes of social, political and economic justice. The Council meets on the first Thursday of every month to

co-ordinate campaigning and activities more frequently and as required. The officers of the BDTUC are:
