This event has been organised by East Belfast Community Development Agency’s Local Community Empowerment Programme (CEP). NICVA and EBCDA, along with a network of community partners from across Belfast, is delivering the Community Empowerment Programme (CEP), which is part of . This project is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the EU Programmes Body – SEUPB.

With the warmer weather here, it’s important to look after ourselves and each other 💙

💧 Drink plenty of water throughout the day
🧢 Wear light clothing and stay in the shade where possible
🌞 Avoid being out in the hottest part of the day
🍉 Eat light and often
🏠 Keep rooms cool by closing curtains during peak sunshine
👵 Check in on elderly neighbours, family and vulnerable friends
🐶 Don’t forget pets also need shade and fresh water

Remember, staying cool isn’t just about comfort it’s about keeping healthy too!

Fresh food should never be a luxury

With the rising cost of living, many families are finding it harder to afford healthy, nutritious meals. Access to affordable fresh food is so important not just for physical health, but for mental wellbeing too. Eating well can help improve energy levels, support our immune systems, reduce stress, and help families feel their best.

We help make fresh fruit, vegetables, and everyday essentials more accessible and affordable for our community, while also reducing food waste and supporting local people through difficult times.

Healthy food should be available to everyone, not just those who can afford supermarket prices. Together, we can create a stronger, healthier community where nobody has to choose between eating well and paying the bills.

Because when we support each other, we really are all in this together.

Thank you all for a wonderfully busy week! Thank you for the donations received, visits, parcels delivered and treats baked!

We hope you have a great weekend and we will be ready for you all come 11am on Monday again!

Anyone can use our social supermarket market no matter your circumstances, registration takes a few minutes, you pick the items you need most and you benefit from a cheaper food shop!
