Women Breaking Barriers NI This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Women Breaking Barriers is a pilot programme that will equip women in NI with the skills necessary to overcome personal barriers to employment and education, and skill-up toward employment. The UK Shared Prosperity fund, is a central pillar of the UK government's Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6bn of funding for local investment across the UK by March 2025. Women Breaking Barriers is a conso

rtium of four key women's organisations across Northern Ireland, that provide training and education and actively tackles the structural barriers for women, gaining education and employment. Every goal starts with one step!

This September & October we'll be running our GOALS Programme at the fantastic Shankill Women’s Centre , supporting women to grow confidence, build resilience, and explore new opportunities in work, education, and training.

This welcoming and supportive 4-week programme is for women in Northern Ireland who are currently economically inactive and ready to take the next step.

Today we’re highlighting a brilliant opportunity from NIFRS Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service for any women who may be curious about a future in firefighting, or know someone who might be.

NIFRS are hosting free Women’s Come & Try Events over the next two weekends, giving women the chance to explore what a career in firefighting could look like, try practical activities and hear from women already working in the role.

A brilliant opportunity to ask questions, challenge misconceptions and get a real feel for the role in a supportive environment.

They’re hiring a Finance & Admin Officer to join their small but mighty team

🕒 Part-time (up to 22.5 hours, flexible)

This is a key role where you’ll be at the heart of keeping the organisation running, managing finances, supporting funding work, and helping everything tick along smoothly day to day

You’ll be working closely with the Director and playing a real part in supporting women’s sector work across NI

✔️ Manage payments, budgets, and financial records
✔️ Support funding bids and reporting
✔️ Keep admin and office systems running smoothly

If you’re organised, good with numbers, and want a role with real impact, this one’s worth a look
