Women Breaking Barriers NI This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Women Breaking Barriers is a pilot programme that will equip women in NI with the skills necessary to overcome personal barriers to employment and education, and skill-up toward employment. The UK Shared Prosperity fund, is a central pillar of the UK government's Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6bn of funding for local investment across the UK by March 2025. Women Breaking Barriers is a conso

rtium of four key women's organisations across Northern Ireland, that provide training and education and actively tackles the structural barriers for women, gaining education and employment. Women of Dungiven! Could this be the right time to focus on you?

Our GOALS (Gaining Opportunities and Living Skills) programme is coming to Glenshane Community Development, Dungiven this October and November.

When: Tuesdays 20th & 27th October and 3rd November
Time: 10:00am to 2:00pm
Where: Glenshane Community Development, Dungiven

Over three weeks, you'll have the opportunity to build confidence, develop practical skills, and explore the next steps towards employment, education, training, or volunteering. Whether you're looking to rediscover your confidence, gain new skills, or simply make time for yourself, GOALS is here to support you every step of the way.

This free programme is open to women living in Northern Ireland who are currently economically inactive.

If you're unsure about your next steps, this free event offers the chance to explore your options, meet organisations, ask questions, and find out more about universities, alternative education, careers advice, and training programmes.

Join the brilliantly inspiring kitty Brown from Time4U Wellbeing at Lettershandoney Community Centre for four friendly, uplifting sessions where you’ll:

• Build your confidence and self-belief
• Discover your strengths and what matters to you
• Set realistic, achievable goals
• Boost your motivation and resilience

Today we’re highlighting a brilliant opportunity from NIFRS Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service for any women who may be curious about a future in firefighting, or know someone who might be.

NIFRS are hosting free Women’s Come & Try Events over the next two weekends, giving women the chance to explore what a career in firefighting could look like, try practical activities and hear from women already working in the role.

A brilliant opportunity to ask questions, challenge misconceptions and get a real feel for the role in a supportive environment.
