Good evening everyone. Yesterday evening around 7-30pm a gentleman that i recognise before unexpectedly arrived with a fledgling wood-pigeon. Unfortunately I was not available at the time of his arrival. My daughter immediately contacted me about his arrival. The finder didn't leave his details so we can not keep him updated and where possible return the pigeon to where it was originally found. I would really appreciate it if the finders could get in touch with us by PM so we could get some details and keep you updated with his progress . Also a kind reminder , if you do find a pigeon/ fledgling that is needing our help , please don't randomly just turn up as we may not have the space to take them in which could delay their care and could stress them more then necessary. Also I would like to add that the fledgling , that came in is doing really well. and will keep you all updated on his progress and releases.

Good afternoon everyone. A gentleman noticed this lovely blackbird sitting behind a supermarket on the ground when he went up to it to see if it was OK he noticed that one of its feet was not right and called me out to see if I could help. When I arrived I soon seen it was a ( fledgling blackbird ) and already this poor bird has not having a great start to its life. I gently picked him up to notice that his foot was tangled in human hair. I managed to untangle the hair from around his foot and cleaned it with a non alcohol wipe. I checked him over for any other injuries. The parents was still in the area so he was not brought into rescue and was released on the spot with the finder.

Good evening everyone. This lovely would wood pigeon was released today. Luckily he didn't have any injuries. But was very scared from what had happened. The finder found him surrounded by four or five cats ready to kill him. After a few nights off rest rest he was released.

Good afternoon everyone. Another great successful release this afternoon. This poor pigeon come in to rescue with no injuries. But was very underweight and too weak to fly. He was put on a course of internal parasite medication and after a few weeks , he started to make good progress and put on good weight again. He is now healthy enough to be released into my flock and fingers crossed , he stays out of trouble and enjoys the of rest of his journey.

This was a little bit of a shock to see this morning. One of my girls led me an egg! Unfortunately it is not a fertilised egg.

One or are rescued wood- pigeons lining up for a drink of water 🥰 often now comes for a drink of water and to see what breakfast I have put out. 😆

SUCCESSFULLY RELEASE

How gorgeous is this Sparrow! Come into rescue a good few weeks ago. Was found by a lady' on her doorway , Unfortunately , we couldn't get her back into the nest and it was reported by the finder that one of the parents had been already killed from ' the next door's cat also.

This pigeon came into rescue also a few weeks ago. A lovely man spotted him being unwell and unable to fly. When he came into rescue , he was very underweight and dehydrated with a growth growing next to his keelborne. ( pigeon pox ) luckily he has made a full recovery and has been able to be released.
