5th Beckenham South Scout Group

5th Beckenham South Scout Group Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers. Registered Charity No. 1011301 We provide exciting everyday adventure to young people from 6 to 18.

We were formed in 1946 and have been sponsored by St Edmund’s Catholic Church in Village Way since then. From 4 boys, meeting in various places until we managed to build our HQ in Shortlands, near Bromley in 1957, we now have over 175 girls and boys in the group.

Celebrating 80 years of our wonderful scout group!

We're excited to invite parents, families, and past members to join our Whitsun camp fun day on Sunday 24th May down in Dorking to celebrate the 80th anniversary of 5th Beckenham South Scout Group. We'll have a BBQ, activities such as climbing wall, mobile cave, archery, air rifles, inflatable assault course, tomohawks, and more from 1pm til 3pm.

Cubs and scouts travel from Beckenham at 6pm on 22nd, and Beavers join us on Saturday morning travelling by coach from 10am. Speak to your leader for more info. Past members DM us for directions and further details.

In 2022 the Scouts had their Summer Camp at and we had a lovely time axe throwing, climbing, team building and exploring. Now we’ll be back in 2026 to do all that good stuff 🏕️🪓🔥🧗‍♂️🏖️

Alongside currently serving personnel and veterans from the British Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force, we are proud to present the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance this Saturday 8th November.

Together with stars of stage and screen we will celebrate and pay tribute to our incredible Armed Forces community, honouring their extraordinary sacrifice and service.

Hosted by Hannah Waddingham and with performances from Rod Stewart, Sam Ryder, Blessing Offor and The Wellermen, we’d love for you to join us as we mark 80 years since the end of the Second World War, and pay tribute to the fallen.

We will also honour the resilience and strength of military children who have faced bereavement, and mark the 25th anniversary of the UK government lifting the ban on gay, le***an and bisexual personnel serving in the armed forces.
