To all who cleared the litter today, thank you so much! The children collected a good few bags and the mums from Batley FC did an amazing job too! Akhtar Kasia and our lovely regular lady also joined the group and together we did a sterling job!
Batley looks so much better when we all work together 💚💚💚
Also cleared opposite branch Road on Bradford Road all the overgrown weeds which still needs a little more work and a tidy up of the bench area!

We have a meeting with Tescos on Tuesday to discuss the terrible litter on the landscaping and a hopeful collaboration to work something out to get it clean and tidy all the time!

There are fantastic food businesses in Batley!
Please be responsible with the packaging from your purchase! Dining Al Fresco, don’t throw it out of the car or leave it in the car park or street
Put it in the bin! If the bin is full take it home! Let’s love where we live and keep it litter free for ALL the community 💚

Some new and positive happenings regarding waste removal they begin in 2027 and the penalties for fly tipping will be much harsher. Have a read! 💚♻️💚♻️💚

We welcome today’s announcement of tougher action on waste crime, including mandatory permit numbers displayed on vans, enhanced background checks, and stronger penalties for rogue waste operators ⚠️

These are measures we’ve long called for through our Fly-Tipping Action Plan, and they will help crack down on criminals who blight our communities and countryside.

Fly-tipping is not a victimless crime. Stronger enforcement matters, and these changes are an important step towards cleaner, safer places for everyone 💚

Another successful litter pick! We tackled the front of Tesco opposite the garage and to be honest we would probably need a good week with many peoples to clear everything under those bushes!

It’s a combination of very old litter, stuff that is thrown out of cars or dropped on the street, litter that blows over from the main shopping car park, plastic gloves from the garage opposite and finally just people dropping litter!

The scary stuff is the density of it all hidden by the bushes! It’s bad for wild life, bad to view and bad to know it is always there!

Next litter pick is is June 6th and from then on we will go for the first Sunday in every month!
If we can also shout out for more volunteers please! Don’t like the litter then help us collect it up and we get cleaner quicker!

Thank you to all today’s volunteers, you are all superstars! The children were epic at collecting! Thank you also to the very kind gent who came and gave us some fruit drinks! The children were happy to enjoy them! ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Just to let everyone know the litter we collected was NOT from MrT’s but a combination of cans, sweet wrappers, crisp packets, cardboard and Mc Donald fast food wrappers!
MrT’s also rewarded all the litter pickers with a treat as well inside the restaurant! Thank you so much 💚

What a litterpick!
Thank you all our little volunteers, our regulars and for the leaders of the Girl Scouts, cubs and Brownies!
So around the back of Mr T’s and leading into the Mill outlet has been cleaned! All the little ones are getting a treat from MrT’s so thank you for that 💚
Look at all these bags! Kirklees litter picking team will collect tomorrow and sort out the fly tipping by the clothes bin!
