We want to say a huge well done to Justin for securing a place with DFN Project Search HQ and wrapping up his very first full week of work placement! We are all so proud of him. 🌟

Our In-Touch team worked alongside Justin throughout his application, from building up his confidence to putting his application together, so seeing his hard work pay off means the world to us.

To mark the milestone, we headed out for a walk along Portobello beach and grabbed some pizza for lunch to celebrate. 🍕🌊

One of the young people we support has a real talent for videography and editing, and earlier this year they created a video for our Summer Prizegiving. 🎬

They planned their own interview questions, arranged and carried out interviews, filmed everything and then edited it all together.

Unfortunately, there was only time to show a few minutes of the video at the Prizegiving, so we decided it deserved its own screening. 🍿

Our In-Touch team hosted a little showing event so they could share the full video with the people who are important to them.

We are so proud of their hard work, creativity, and talent. 🫶

Supporting young care leavers across Scotland to aim for positive, independent destinations is at the heart of everything we do.

Our In-Touch service is led by young people and rooted in trust. By working directly with multi-agency teams to deliver joined-up support, we ensure every young person has the trusted network they need for long-term belonging.

✨ Every young care leaver deserves to feel supported, connected, and empowered as they take their next steps into the world.

Big news for In-Touch! 📢

We have received an astonishing £168,448 from The National Lottery Community Fund, which will support our In-Touch Throughcare and Aftercare Service for the next two years.

This follows our previous £94,500 award in 2024, allowing us to continue building on the work already taking place with care-experienced young people aged 15–26 across Scotland.

In-Touch provides flexible, relationship-based support as young people move towards independent adulthood; helping them build confidence, develop life skills, improve wellbeing and navigate challenges around housing, relationships and independence.

With this funding, our team can continue providing 1-to-1 support, outreach and crisis response, wherever young people are across Scotland.

A huge thank you once again to all players for making this support possible. 🫶

👋 Meet our newest In-Touch Worker, Jodie!

We’re excited to introduce Jodie as she steps into her new role within our In-Touch team!

Jodie is already a familiar face to many of us - she’s spent the last 2.5 years as a Residential Practitioner after completing her MSc in Forensic Psychology. Her background also includes dedicated work helping care-experienced young people re-engage with education and thrive at university.

"I have loved working with our young people, and seeing them grow and develop in so many ways has been so rewarding. I’m excited to start this new chapter as an In-Touch worker and can't wait to continue supporting our young people!"

Please join us in wishing Jodie all the best in her new role! 🎉

We are proud to have contributed to The Robertson Trust's latest Impact and Insights Report, focusing on Nurturing Relationships.

The report shines a crucial light on how trauma and persistent poverty are deeply interconnected, and why long-term, relationship-based, and whole-family support models are essential for lasting change across Scotland.

Key takeaways from the report reflect what we see every day in our work:
🔹 Prevention requires both material and relational support.
🔹 Trust and recovery are built through consistent care.
🔹 Community spaces and multi-agency collaboration are vital preventative infrastructure.

Thank you to for their continued support of our work and for capturing these insights.

At In-Touch, we support young people to build independence, connect with their community and discover what they're capable of.

Today started with lunch and a catch-up with one of our young people. She was excited to tell us that she's meeting her idol, Ewan McGregor, at a meet and greet in Dundee soon! ⭐

We then headed along to a local outdoor bowls group for people with visual impairments. She was welcomed with open arms, gave it a go and discovered she had a real talent for it! 🎳

More importantly, she left feeling proud of herself, having met new people, tried something new and realised she's capable of overcoming challenges and stepping outside her comfort zone.

These are the moments that matter. They remind us that confidence doesn't appear overnight; it's built one experience, one conversation and one achievement at a time. 💜

Checking in with a quick snapshot of what we've been getting up to at In-Touch recently 📸

One of our young people spent the day volunteering at a local boat launch. They loved getting involved, meeting new people and giving something back to their community – so much so that they've already signed up to help paint the decking on Saturdays.

We also had the chance to celebrate another young person's birthday with a lunch out. Sharing a meal, having a chat and marking their special day might seem like a small thing, but moments like these help build confidence, strengthen relationships and remind our young people that their milestones are to be celebrated!

This weekend, our In-Touch team supported a young person attend the , where he got the chance to pick up some new equipment for himself and his horse, Evora. 🐴

This included a show jumping baton, a new set of spurs, riding gloves, a show tie and a hoof pick! 🏇

It's always great to support young people to pursue their interests and hobbies, and seeing him so happy to shop for Evora made the day even more worthwhile. 🫶
