Direction
When at YMCA Barnsley place go to the side entrance.

The side entrance is left of the main entrance past Jevane food place.

Straight up alley to the side door.

A team member will be waiting, to welcome you to the session.

​Looking to try a fun, low-impact sport, meet new people, or build your confidence? The Focus4Vision team is thrilled to launch our brand new weekly Boccia sessions!
​Whether you're looking for friendly socializing or a bit of healthy competition, this is for you.

​🗓 When: Starting Thursday, October 22nd, 2026 (and every Thursday after!)

⏰ Time: 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM
📍 Where: YMCA Barnsley

💷 Cost: FREE!

​👥 Who can play?
ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE! All ages are welcome. Whether you have a disability or not, this session is fully inclusive.

​🎯 What is Boccia?
It's a fantastic, tactical target sport! Players are split into a Red Team and a Blue Team, and the main aim is to throw your balls closest to the white target ball (the 'Jack').
​All participants take their throws from a seated position.
​We have adaptive equipment available for anyone who needs it, ensuring everyone can join in the fun.

​✨ Why give it a go?
✅ Great for physical health and mental confidence
✅ Low-impact and fully accessible
✅ Focuses on teamwork and strategy
✅ Play just for fun, or get competitive!

On Monday the Disability Sport & Physical Activity Partnership visited students at Barnsley College.

They showcased the fantastic inclusive sports that they offer across the borough!

Students had the chance to learn about the activities and get involved in trying some themselves. ⭐️
