😀 Congratulations to all ten who completed today’s regulated Emergency First Aid at Work course, achieving a Level 3 Award certificate! 🎓👏

By taking part in this funded training, these dedicated volunteers have strengthened their community groups’ activities and gained the knowledge, practical skills and confidence to respond to emergencies.⛑️

🩹 From cuts, splinters, choking, burns, seizures to the recovery position and cardiac arrest, they are now better equipped to provide an initial response when someone needs help, including learning how to use a defibrillator. 🚑

💚 Environmental volunteering is about more than protecting our green spaces. It’s also about building safer, stronger and more resilient communities.

☕ A big thank you to Pen*stone Co-op for keeping everyone refreshed with tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the day. Those welcome refreshments helped keep our volunteers going! 🍪

Special thanks also go to our excellent trainer, Steven, for delivering the course, sharing his expertise and helping our volunteers build the confidence to respond when it matters most.

This project has been a fabulous educational journey for youngsters by Angel Voices Performing Arts Academy Members of the course have taken part in enhancing a number of Greenotes environmental projects along the way. The training ends on a high as the group prepare for the release of an original song that will deliver an encouraging message of self belief. 🎙️🦅🎵

🚨🎶 NEWS ALERT — “SPREAD YOUR WINGS” IS OFFICIALLY TAKING FLIGHT! 🪽🎶

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that our original track “Spread Your Wings” has officially been APPROVED FOR RELEASE! ❤️

📅 OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE — 8 NOVEMBER 2026

This Dance/House track has been created as part of our year-long Music Industry Business Masterclass, kindly funded by Barnsley Council Pen*stone Area Team.

Over the past year, our young people have experienced the journey of taking an original song from an idea right through to a professional release — learning about songwriting, recording, production, contracts, marketing, promotion, live sound and the realities of working within the music industry.

🦅 THE MEANING BEHIND THE SONG

At the heart of Spread Your Wings is the Red Kite, used as a powerful metaphor for young people and emerging artists.

It is about having the courage to overcome your fears, explore what is out there, defend who you are, become the best version of yourself, find your own place in the world and have the confidence to pursue your dreams.

And the journey isn’t over yet… 🎬

Our youngsters are now preparing to shoot the professional music video to accompany the track — bringing the message of Spread Your Wings to life on screen.

What started as a Music Industry Business Masterclass has become a genuine music-industry journey from concept to release, and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone who has played a part.

A HUGE congratulations to Adam Price and all our young people, volunteers and everyone involved in making this project happen. ❤️
