Hello,

My name is Tessa and I am doing a course at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust to learn more about child development to further my training. As part of the course, I have been asked to identify a family who are currently expecting a baby, to undertake weekly observations. This would enable me to learn more about how a carer and baby develop their relationship.

📢 Calling all parents and parents to be!

Did you know that today 24th September 2025 marks National Fitness Day and this year the theme is ‘Powered By You’. Our Walk & Talk Events are powered by our great volunteers and could not continue without your regular support. They are free to attend and the perfect way to get out and enjoy the fresh air, whilst improving your all-round health and fitness at the same time.

What is an NCT Walk & Talk? It's simple! It's a relaxed, informal gathering where parents, parents-to-be, and carers can meet up for a walk, chat, and connect. It's a fantastic way to:

Get some gentle exercise – perfect for new parents!

Meet other local parents and build your support network.

Share experiences and advice in a relaxed setting.

Boost your mood with fresh air and good company.

Show your little one the world from their buggy or sling!

Why host one? You don't need to be an NCT member or have participated in an NCT antenatal course! Simply choose a date, time, and a buggy-friendly route in your local area, and invite others to join you. It's a wonderful way to bring your community together and help combat loneliness that can sometimes affect new parents.
