May and June with Daphne & Friends 🌻

Our next few weeks are full of gentle spaces for bereaved families to come together - walks, community, fresh air, tea, books, family time, and people who understand.

Whether you are newly bereaved, many years on, parenting after loss, pregnant after loss, bringing siblings along, or just feeling like you could do with being around others who “get it” - you are so welcome here.

There is never any pressure to talk, explain, or arrive in a certain way. Come as you are. Stay for as long as feels right.

You do are not alone. 🦋

Tomorrow we’ll be meeting for our monthly As You Are Walk 🌿

A gentle walk around Hollow Ponds for bereaved parents and families - a chance to be outside, walk alongside others who understand, and have a little space to breathe.

There is no pressure to talk, share, or be anything other than exactly as you are.

Whether you’re having a heavy week, a quiet week, or you just feel like some fresh air with people who get it, you are very welcome to join us.

Details and meeting point above - link in bio to let me know you are coming.

You are welcome here 💛🩷🩵

Holding families well takes a village 🌿✨

Baby loss is never experienced in isolation, and no bereaved parent should have to navigate life after loss alone. That’s why we created our Baby Loss Awareness Training - to help ensure that wherever a family turns, they are met with understanding, compassion and strength.

We are so proud of our growing network of Daphne & Friends accredited professionals and organisations who have taken the time to learn, listen and reflect on how they can support bereaved families with compassion and confidence.

These are people who are choosing to do better - to create safer, kinder spaces for families at every stage of their journey.

Here are just a handful of our accredited businesses who have completed their training with us 🤍

As our network grows, we hope bereaved parents will begin to recognise and look out for organisations displaying their Daphne & Friends certificates, window stickers and digital badges - a small but powerful sign that you are in safe and compassionate hands.

If you are interested in becoming a Daphne & Friends accredited organisation, we would love to hear from you. You can send me a message or find more details via the link in our bio.

Because feeling understood shouldn’t be rare. It should be something every family can expect. 🌼

On International Women’s Day, I sat in a room with inspiring women for conversation about women’s health that included pregnancy and baby loss.

It was an incredible privilege to be part of the IWD event, speaking alongside thebrilliant .helenoneill .

The conversation explored how often women’s health concerns are dismissed - from adolescence through fertility, pregnancy and into menopause - and what needs to change.

For me, that conversation must include pregnancy and baby loss.

Too often loss sits quietly on the margins of women’s health discussions. But the reality is that it touches so many families, and the impact reaches far beyond the immediate moment of loss.

Speaking about this at such an important event, and then spending time at the Daphne & Friends stall afterwards, reminded me why these conversations matter so much.

Thank you to everyone who came to talk with us - who shared their babies names and their stories, sometimes with people they had only just met. It was a privilege to hold those moments with you. 🦋

And to everyone who adopted a teddy or made a donation to support our work - thank you 🙏. Your kindness helps us keep our support spaces free and available to bereaved families.

Thank you to , the team at , and everyone involved in creating such an important space for honest conversation.

And to the families in our community - your babies matter, and they are always part of this story. 💛

Mother’s Day can be a complicated day when your child isn’t here. For many of us it holds love, pride, grief and longing all at once.

This year it felt important to create a gentle moment for our community; a small way to honour our babies and our motherhood together.

We’ll meet at Walthamstow Wetlands for a quiet As You Are walk. We will mark the moment and remember our little ones, take a slow walk through the wetlands, drink coffee, and spend a little time with people who understand. There is no pressure to talk or share - just being together can be enough.

If Mother’s Day feels heavy this year we would love to welcome you. 💛

On Monday I attended the APPG on Baby Loss at Westminster.

It was a powerful and emotional room to be in, filled with women who have experienced the unimaginable and who continue to show extraordinary courage in speaking about it.

I want to share my awe the strength and commitment of everyone who shared their stories and experiences so openly. It takes enormous bravery to keep raising your voice in spaces like this, and you are all inspirational and amazing. It is a privilege to sit alongside you.

Thank you to and for ensuring the voices of bereaved families are heard as part of Baroness Amos’s maternity review.

There is still a long way to go. Too many families are being failed by a maternity system that is under enormous pressure. Women must be listened to, trust needs to be rebuilt, and the systemic inequalities within maternity care - particularly for Black and brown women - must be addressed head on.

Many of the babies represented in that room died in a system that is struggling. We owe it to them, and to the families who will come after us, to keep pushing for change.

At Daphne & Friends, we see the long-term impact of this every week in our community. We will keep showing up, holding space for families, and adding our voices to the call for a safer, more compassionate maternity system.

International Women’s Day 🌈

I’m so proud to be a part of this amazing event, and be on a panel discussing women’s health with these amazing women. helenoneill

Maternity care and outcomes are at the heart of women’s health, but the subject of bereavement can often be overlooked. I am proud to be making baby loss part of the bigger conversations around the experiences of women in the healthcare system.

I also have a stand so do come over and say hi. 👋 I’d love to meet you.

Thanks to for organising such an amazing event.

I can’t wait to see you there.

What a BEAUTIFUL morning at Playtime: Family Edition 🧸🌈💛

So much play. So much laughter. So many little moments of connection that mean more than words can say ✨

Sometimes it isn’t about big conversations.
Sometimes it’s simply about being in a room where nobody has to explain themselves.
Where you’re surrounded by people who get it.
And that alone is enough 🤍

There were busy hands building duplo cities, babies making their first baby friends, grown ups chatting over coffee ☕ and children just being children 💕

(Also… I was clearly too busy soaking it all in because I forgot to take many photos… oops 🙈📸)

Huge thank you to Caroline at Castle Play Space CIC for her ongoing support and for holding such a welcoming, joyful space for our families 💛🏰

If you’d love to join us next time, our next Playtime: Family Edition is in the Easter holidays: Saturday 28 March 🌷✨
