What to do if you find an Assistance Dog is on their own?
They could be working, but if their partner doesn’t appear, his means the dog may be lost or the owner is in trouble.
They’ll be friendly so you can get details off the tag on their collar. Stay in the spot you found them, whilst making contact from the tag details.
You would rarely see an Assistance dog without their owner, but whatever the case, there’ll be contact details on the tag.
If for some reason there’s no tag, a trip to the nearest vet or rescue centre or police station to get the chip scanned for details, should enable the owner or their next of kin to be contacted.
Feel free to add anything I’ve missed and I’ll amend the post accordingly…
Credit to Jevon Ellis for pointing this out.
