Hornton Primary PTA

Come and join the junior parkrun fun! We’re encouraging all children and families from Hornton Primary School to come along to junior parkrun at Spiceball Park on Sunday 18th October to support our new Run Director, Sam Cairns, a parent at Hornton Primary School. As a proud parkrun Primary School, we’d love to see as many of our children as possible getting involved, enjoying the fresh air, being active and supporting our local parkrun community. Junior parkrun is a fantastic, friendly, and inclusive event where children can run, jog or walk at their own pace, with lots of smiles and encouragement along the way. Whether you’re a regular runner or trying it for the first time, everyone is welcome. Look forward to seeing you there.

Anything we missed? 🍎

Hi All!

Over the summer, whilst you’re out and about on your adventures please could you collect: shells, conkers, pinecones, acorns, leaves, your favourite small sticks, pebbles.

We are looking to create natural resource baskets for the playground so the children can play shops, make patterns, admire nature with wonder, wherever their imagination takes them.

If you’re feeling particularly creative, painted pebbles would also be a lovely addition.

Thank you 🤩 🐚🍂

As we come to the end of the academic year we want to thank you for your continued support throughout the year. We’ve had some brilliant big events: Bingo Night, the Barn Dance and WWF fundraiser quiz. As well as numerous smaller events; bake sales, Christmas film night, play evening drinks and uniform sale.

With money raised this year we have been able to support the school in the following ways:
-purchasing props and costumes for the play
-buying a tabletop cardboard saw and cardboard tools for EYFS
-paying for coaches to ensure costs are kept down for school trips
-funding two iPads (currently being procured by IT)
-donation to EYFS for new toys
-ice lollies for all on a hot day
-Blinds for Oak class! (Very appreciated with this hot summer)
-Gazebos for each class
And other bits and bobs along the way

Wishing everyone a lovely summer and looking forward to all the events to come in the new academic year.

If you have any ideas for events, whether they be community minded like the barn dance or fundraising ideas like the Bingo, please drop a comment below. If you’d like to join the PTA, please also send us a message!
