Backwell Walking Carnival & Fayre is back!
🌿 Join us Sunday 28th June for a vibrant Rewilding-themed parade, celebrating sustainability, followed by a fun-filled fayre with stalls, food, entertainment, dog show & raffle 🎉

Showcase your local business, community group, crafts, activities or fundraising efforts as part of our vibrant community fayre.

Pitches are free of charge, with donations towards Backwell Playing Fields warmly welcomed 💚

🎉 What to Expect at the Backwell Walking Carnival & Fayre 🎉

A full day of community, creativity and family fun! 🌿

✨ Start with the Walking Carnival (sets off from Spar at 12)
A colourful parade through the village, bringing this year’s Rewilding theme to life with costumes, music and imaginative “floats”.

🎪 Then head to the Fayre on the Field
The celebrations continue with:
🍔 Food & drink stalls
🛍️ Local crafts, businesses & community groups
🎶 Live entertainment & singing
🫧 Children’s bubble show
🎨 Face painting
🐶 Dog show
🎟️ Raffle with fantastic local prizes

It’s the perfect day to come together, support local and enjoy everything our community has to offer 🌿

🌿✨ Rewilding Ideas – Let Your Creativity Grow Wild! ✨🌿

Not sure where to start with this year’s Rewilding theme? Here are a few ideas to get you going…

🌼 Wildflower meadows
🐝 Bees, butterflies & bugs
🌳 Trees, forests & woodland creatures
🐦 Birds & nests
🌊 Rivers, ponds & aquatic life
🌿 Nature reclaiming spaces

Think costumes, decorated buggies, banners, props or full-on floats—simple or spectacular, it all works!

♻️ Bonus points for using recycled or natural materials—cardboard, fabric scraps, greenery… let nature inspire you 🌿

Get your friends, family, school or group involved and bring your own wild creation to the carnival!

🌿✨ A little throwback to last year’s Backwell Walking Carnival & Fayre ✨🌿

We loved welcoming 5 Acre Farm to the fayre in 2025, where visitors could create their own beautiful dried flower bunches 🌸

It was such a lovely hands-on activity and a perfect fit for our community atmosphere. We’re so excited to welcome them back again this year!

Join us on Sunday 28th June to see what they’ll be bringing along this time 👀🌿

This year’s Walking Carnival theme is Rewilding — and we’d love to see as many local people, groups, businesses and organisations involved as possible.

We’re looking for:
🌱 Carnival floats
🌱 Community and trading stalls at the fayre
🌱 Dog show entries

The fayre is all about celebrating community, creativity, sustainability and the outdoors together.

Pitches are free of charge, with donations from takings going towards this year’s chosen charity, Backwell Playing Fields.

🌿 Theme Reminder: REWILDING 🌿

This year’s Backwell Walking Carnival is all about Rewilding—celebrating nature, wildlife and letting creativity grow a little wild! 🌼🐝

Think flowers, forests, bugs, birds, bees… or anything inspired by the natural world. Whether it’s a simple costume, a decorated buggy or a full-on float, there’s no right or wrong—just have fun with it!

It’s a great chance to get creative with friends, family, schools or local groups and bring something unique to the carnival 🌿✨
