As more people move here the Parish Council aim to represent the views of the community to ensure a strong foundation is established.

We have been chasing Buckinghamshire Council to repair the street lights along the greenways for the best part of 3 years (when they adopted them). After a lot of work by both us and Councillor Chirag Chotai, pushing for the work to be done, we are really pleased that contractors have been on site yesterday and today. The work to upgrade the broken lights to LED and getting them to work is long over due but great news the work has finally been done.

Travellers have started to set up camp on the grass verge of the main road between Martin Dalby Way and the A413 Buckingham Road. We have reported to Buckinghamshire Council and Thames Valley Police to start the process of having them moved on.

Buckinghamshire Council are currently consulting on a new Local Plan for the County. The plan sets out potential development sites needed to meet the Government's target for 95,000 new homes for Buckinghamshire. We are currently working with Berryfields Parish Council and Watermead Parish Council to develop and co-ordinate our response ahead of the consultation deadline on the 16th of March.

The plan currently proposes a new development to the East of Watermead of 8,870 new houses as well as a significant expansion of Berryfields.

This is a link to the consultation and relevant documents.

We have just become aware that Prince Rupert Drive (between the two roundabouts out on the main road) will be closed for resurfacing next Monday (16th) between 9:30 and 15:30. The diversion will be via Berryfields and Bicester Road so quite a long way around. Please leave more time next Monday if the road works will affect your journey.

It was dropped off by a recovery truck on the evening of the 7th of January.

It is a private car park and the centre needs the spaces that are being blocked.

It looks like we have a week of freezing weather and forecast snow ahead. The Parish Council provides grit bins around Buckingham Park for residents to help themselves. Please do use them.

The Parish Council don't have a role in gritting our roads and pavements. Buckinghamshire Council are solely responsible for highways (when adopted which unfortunately few of our roads are). Buckinghamshire Council has a long-standing policy of generally not gritting side roads. So this is not new or unique to Buckingham Park.

We have been chasing Buckinghamshire Council to fix the street lights on our green ways since March 2023. Our Chairman Anders Christensen did a walk around with Buckinghamshire Cabinet Member Steve Bowls, and our local Councillor Chirag Chotai, on Wednesday this week. A significant number of lights now work (though many still need. to be fixed). While this is good we have to question the two years of excuses and delays we have been given when apparently they could be turned back on within 2 days. We will continue to chase Buckinghamshire Council and hold them to account for the outstanding maintaince they are responsible for.
