Lawnmower racing is a form of motorsport in which competitors race modified lawnmowers, usually of the ride-on or

self-propelled variety. The Sport is now 50 years in the running and was originally started in 1973 in Wisborough Green by Jim Gavin and a few of his friends over a few drinks in the Cricketers Arms. And the best bit we believe is he was an Irishman from Co.Cork no less and was living in England at the time. Because after all only an Irishman could think of whacky racing like this !! On behalf of Northern Ireland Lawnmower Racing Association Nilmra a huge thankyou to Eddie and all Seven Gables Vintage Working Day & Show for having us this weekend, not much racing done today it was more like diff and drift lol but lots of fun was had. Also a big shout out to the chaps with the tractor who pulled us all out of the field 🚜it was very much appreciated.
