Lawnmower racing is a form of motorsport in which competitors race modified lawnmowers, usually of the ride-on or

self-propelled variety. The Sport is now 50 years in the running and was originally started in 1973 in Wisborough Green by Jim Gavin and a few of his friends over a few drinks in the Cricketers Arms. And the best bit we believe is he was an Irishman from Co.Cork no less and was living in England at the time. Because after all only an Irishman could think of whacky racing like this !! 🏁 The action continues this weekend! 🏁

Get ready for another day of grass-flying, wheel-spinning lawnmower racing as the Northern Ireland Lawnmower Racing Association heads to The Jungle NI for the Mid Ulster Vintage Day this Saturday!

Expect plenty of racing action, great family entertainment, and a chance to see some of Northern Ireland’s fastest lawnmowers battle it out on the track. Whether you’re a regular supporter or thinking of coming along for the first time, we’d love to see you there.

We’d also like to thank everyone who came along to spectate, support, and cheer everyone on. The atmosphere was brilliant and it wouldn’t be the same without all of you! 💙
