Our Town Board and project subgroup will be at four locations across town between 10am and 1pm on Saturday 13th June as part of assessing improvements and the town centre’s look and feel.

We’ll also be at the Community Centre throughout the full session for anyone who wants a longer chat.

Here is where to find us:

Discussion point two: Old and Abbey 11:10am to 11:30am
Discussion point three: The Railway Station 12:00pm to 12:20pm

Members of our Town Board and project subgroup will be at four stop-off points across Arbroath town centre between 10am and 1pm. Come along to whichever is most convenient for you to share your thoughts on the future of our town centre.

We will also have representatives at the Community Centre from 10am -1pm so there is plenty of time to drop in and have your say.

Stop-off points and approximate timings:

You can read about our next consultation opportunities in today’s Courier.

Meet with the members of the Town Board and subgroup at dedicated points along the route of their walking tour this Wednesday and Saturday.

At each point there will be QR codes that can be scanned to complete a survey and also paper copies, that can be filled out. We are looking for businesses to come forward, get involved and suggest improvements so please do share your thoughts. The survey will also be on the Our Arbroath website.

Of the £20 million that is being awarded to Arbroath, this is just one element – with projects being planned across the town over the 10 year period.

Please note that these are approximate timings as it depends on how much discussion there is, and the pace of the walkers.

Wednesday 10th June

➡ Discussion Point One: Arbroath Community Centre
Approx 5.30pm – 5.50pm

➡ Discussion Point Two: The Old and Abbey Area
Approx 6.30pm – 6.50pm

Arbroath may be best known as the home of the Smokie, but our corner of Scotland is also host to some of the country’s most talented bakers.

Two local businesses, The Keptie Bakery and Wee COOK were named as winners at this year’s Scottish Baker Awards. Keptie Bakery took home a staggering four regional awards for their cookies, sweet treats and scones, with WeeCOOK awarded as their Local Hero for 2026.

Our search for a first-of-its-kind Regeneration Officer was so successful, we've built an entire team around the role.

Fiona Marshall, Owner of Klarean Limited, has been appointed as Regeneration Officer Lead, joined by Lucy Nicholl, Founder of Nicholl HR as Deputy, and Lauren Simpson, a third-sector and community partnership expert, as Regeneration Support Officer.

With the team now in place, three initial projects have been identified to drive forward. These include the development of both the town's community centre (in partnership with Arbroath FC Community Trust) and the Old and Abbey Church, alongside a programme of improvements to the town centre itself, spanning lighting, an artwork trail and more.

To help deliver projects going forward, the team will be establishing sub-groups and is actively looking for volunteers from across the community. No specific background or experience is required, just time, enthusiasm and a desire to help shape Arbroath's future.

If you'd like to get involved, contact the team at [email protected] or via the contact page on our website at https://ourarbroath.com/contact/.

There’s plenty happening outdoors in Arbroath this weekend, with activities for all ages encouraging people to get active, social and make the most of our beautiful outdoor spaces.

Brothock Biking’s next ride takes place on Sunday 17 May at 10am, starting from the new benches at Guthrie Port. The group will decide the route on the morning, usually heading along the NCN1 towards Easthaven or using Arbroath’s shared path network. The rides are relaxed, social and open to everyone - whatever bike you ride.

For younger runners and families, West Links Junior Parkrun continues to provide a fantastic way for children to get outdoors, build confidence and enjoy being active. This is a free, fun, and friendly weekly 2k event for juniors (4 to 14 year olds) but supporting adults are welcome to take part too - every Sunday at 9.30am.

It’s great to see so many opportunities for people of all ages to get outside, connect with others and enjoy everything Arbroath has to offer. If there are any other events - tag them in the comments!

A coastal route from Ember now includes Arbroath as a pick-up point. This is excellent news, improving connections in and out of the town and making it easier for people to travel for work, leisure and tourism.

Better transport links mean more opportunities for local businesses, increased footfall, and stronger links with surrounding areas. The introduction of electric buses is also a welcome move towards more sustainable travel.
