In Afghanistan, girls are banned from attending school beyond the age of 12.

This ban has cut off access to secondary education, leaving many girls without the chance to continue learning. It has created huge challenges and taken away opportunities that every child deserves.

At one secret school, Frontline Children funded a solar inverter. It kept the electricity on, the computers running, and gave girls a way to keep studying online despite the restrictions.

One small step, one school — but for these girls, it means hope, connection, and the chance to learn.

We are delighted to share a recent example of how collaboration and generosity can make a real difference for families in Afghanistan.

Through our trusted contacts and network within the country, Frontline Children was able to coordinate the purchase and delivery of some laptops to a family in Kabul. These devices will allow several children to continue their online schooling — a vital lifeline for their education in challenging circumstances.

This was only possible thanks to the kindness of a donor, who provided the funding, and the dedication of our local partners who ensured the laptops were sourced and delivered safely.

As the donor shared after hearing the laptops had arrived:

“Thank you so much for the work you do for the women and children in Afghanistan! The laptops were delivered, and the children are overjoyed to be able to continue their education.”

While this support has helped one family, we know there are many more who face similar challenges. Alongside this, we continue to support a secret school in Kabul, where children are able to learn in safety despite the risks. We would love to extend this kind of assistance further, wherever possible, so that more children can continue their education and build brighter futures.

The new library and early development centre at Garderie Sultan Houmed Loita School in Djibouti is now complete.

This is the same school we proudly funded the construction of, and it’s been a privilege to support this next chapter with a £15,000 grant from Frontline Children. The new space is already being used by children to read, learn, and explore - a lasting investment in their future.

We’re grateful to the Sovereign Carbon Agency for co-sponsoring this project and overseeing the remaining logistics and funding, and to the Minister of National Education and Vocational Training of the Republic of Djibouti for their continued support.

And once again, a heartfelt thank you to Amy Joynes, the brilliant schools across Somerset, Rowanfield Infant and Junior School in Gloucestershire, and the fantastic guests from our charity fundraising trips to the school. Your generosity made this possible.

Thank You Jenna & Louise!

A huge shoutout to Jenna and Louise for taking on the Ring O' Fire - www.ringofire.co.uk and Firelighter ultra challenges in support of Frontline Children.

Jenna took on the full Ring O’ Fire — 130 miles of coastal terrain, steep climbs, and unpredictable weather. Louise tackled the Firelighter — 50 miles of tough trail along the same rugged coastline. Both showed incredible spirit and determination throughout the weekend.

Their efforts helped raise awareness and funds for our work with children living through conflict and displacement. Every mile they covered helps us reach more young people with education, protection, and hope.

Thank you both — your support means so much.

🌍 Exciting News from Frontline Children! 📚

We are thrilled to announce that Frontline Children has awarded a £15,000 grant to support the construction of a library and early development center at the Garderie Sultan Houmed Loita School in Djibouti - the same school we proudly funded the construction of.

This vital project will begin soon and is expected to be completed within the coming months. The new facilities will provide a safe and inspiring space for children to learn, grow, and access educational resources, making a lasting impact on their future.

We are proud to be co-sponsors of this initiative alongside the Sovereign Carbon Agency, who are overseeing logistics and funding the remaining balance of the project. Our sincere thanks also go to the Minister of National Education and Vocational Training of the Republic of Djibouti, who has pledged full support for this build.

None of this would be possible without the incredible generosity of our donors and supporters. A heartfelt THANK YOU to Amy Joynes, the wonderful schools across Somerset, Rowanfield Infant and Junior School in Gloucestershire, and the fantastic guests from our charity fundraising trips to the school. Your contributions are changing lives!

We look forward to sharing progress updates with you all. Thank you for being part of this journey! ❤️

We are proud to share this video of the amazing work of our partners, Благодійний Фонд «Маяк відродження»/CO “CF”Lighthouse of revival”, a dedicated non-profit organization based in Ukraine. They recently undertook a courageous mission to support children and civilians on the frontlines near Kherson.

In the face of potential Russian drone strikes, the team donned protective body armor and equipped their vehicles to detect drones in the sky. We're thrilled to report that the team safely reached the children, and thanks to our grant, hundreds of children who cannot attend school due to the ongoing conflict received educational kits.

We prioritize working with local partners to procure supplies, reduce transport costs, and boost the local economy.

At Frontline Children, we believe every child deserves access to basic education, regardless of social status, gender, background, or place of birth. We are dedicated to helping children in the most remote and challenging areas, often in conflict zones, by providing educational resources, funding, teachers, scholarships, and, most importantly, hope.

🌟 Update from Our Djibouti School Project! 🌟

As our amazing volunteers return from their trip to Djibouti, we caught up with our education lead, Amy Joynes, to hear about the incredible progress at the school in As Eyla. Since our first trip in 2022, Amy has been tirelessly planning sessions and resources to support the school. This year, she has some exciting updates to share!

"It was incredible to see how well the school is now established as a key part of the community. The classrooms, despite being scarce of resources, are vibrant with colour and children's work. Teachers are working hard on children's language development and even before we left were learning how to take our resources further. It was a joy to see the volunteers engaging so beautifully and helping instil confidence in the three young but superb teachers. We could really feel and see the difference being made by the school. Huge thanks must go to all the volunteers for donations to supply resources and for carrying them out to As Eyla."

Huge thanks to all our volunteers and supporters! Your dedication and generosity are making a real difference. Stay tuned for more updates! 💖📚✨

Exciting News from Frontline Children! 🌟

Our amazing team has just returned from a fundraising adventure trip to Djibouti! The trip's highlight was visiting the school that Frontline Children funded, which proudly opened its doors on 14th May 2021.

Led by our ambassador, Jordan Wylie MBE, and supported by our trustee, Katie Brooks, along with 12 enthusiastic fundraising guests, the team had the incredible experience of meeting the wonderful children and teachers at the school we built. It was a challenging yet rewarding journey to this remote location, filled with unforgettable moments and heartfelt connections.

We organise these trips annually to maintain our strong bond with the school and its amazing community. Even though the school is now independently run, resources in this region are scarce, and our continued support is crucial for its ongoing success. Building the school was a significant milestone, but the real work lies in ensuring its sustained development and impact.

Stay tuned as we'll be sharing more details about the fantastic work our team accomplished during the trip in the coming days.

A massive thank you to everyone who travelled to Djibouti and supported this vital initiative! Your efforts make a world of difference. 💙

We have two important videos to share following our recent grant to our partners, Благодійний Фонд «Маяк відродження»/CO “CF”Lighthouse of revival”, an incredible non-profit organization based in Ukraine. They are doing remarkable work supporting children and civilians on the frontlines near Kherson.

In the first video, shared just a few days ago, Lighthouse of Revival's warehouse in Kherson was unfortunately hit by Russian shelling. Fortunately, no one was killed or seriously injured on this occasion, though the charity has tragically lost team members due to indiscriminate shelling in this densely populated city.

In the second video, shared only yesterday, the charity reports they have now procured the educational kits, which will be distributed to children who cannot attend school due to the ongoing conflict.

When conditions are deemed safe enough, the team will distribute the educational kits to households in Kherson, supporting children confined to their homes as it is too dangerous for schools to open in the city. We can only hope for improvements soon.

Thank you for your continued support.

Exciting day for Frontline Children as the children of Chilthorne Domer Church School in South Somerset get more than 100 SchoolBags and resource kits ready to take out to Djibouti on our annual trip to our Djibouti school project.

The primary school near Yeovil in Somerset raised over £4000 for their local charity School in a Bag who supply school bags full of resources to children in difficult circumstances across the world.

Frontline Children were delighted to have the opportunity to work with School in a Bag to deliver more than 100 of the bags to one of the remotest schools in the world in the Afar Desert.

Not only have Chilthorne Domer Church School done an incredible job raising funds for this project but Headteacher Nicola Chesterton will be joining the expedition team, along with Frontline Children Ambassador Jordan Wylie MBE, to deliver the bags herself to the school in Lac Abbe in 3 weeks time, recognising the incredible learning the children in her school have to gain from the experience.

Well done Chilthorne Domer.

We look forward to sharing more news in the coming weeks from the upcoming annual trip to our Djibouti school project where volunteers will once again be taking learning resources and running a range of community activities.
