Ampleforth & Hovingham Surgeries Patient Participation Group would like to invite you to a free Dementia Awareness Session being held at Hovingham Village Hall on Monday 19th October At 7.00pm. The session includes an overview on Dementia, what happens to the brain as it progresses and the different stages of Dementia along with the importance of patient centred care. This session will provide valuable guidance and information to store in our "tool box" should we ever need to utilise it

📢 Important information regarding Sutton Bank

🚗 Road closure

The A170 at Sutton Bank will be closed from Sunday 13 September to Sunday 4 October for essential roadworks.

Sutton Bank National Park Centre will remain open, along with the surrounding walks and cycling routes. Please follow the signed diversion routes if you're planning to visit.

🐎 White Horse

Forestry England is planning to repaint the White Horse the week commencing 7 September, weather permitting.

As such, the Kilburn car park will be closed from Tuesday 8 September to Friday 11 September (or until the work is complete). The walking route down the steps to the car park will also be closed.

The Cleveland Way will still be open at the top of the White Horse, but visitors will not be able to follow the circular route down the side of the horse and back through the woods during the works.

After 6 wonderful years we’re off, but it’s not goodbye - only au revoir!

Our last day in Ampleforth is 28th September.
Our first day in Acomb, at “Murphy’s” is still to be determined ……Depends on baby Murphy !

Thank you to all our wonderful customers who have supported us over the last 6 years and our fabulous team, past and present. We literally couldn’t have done it without you !

We will miss gorgeous Ampleforth.

Be assured that the lovely family taking over will be a great asset to the village-we wish them every success.
