Yesterday it was just 1 month since the end of the 16 Days of Activism. But that doesn’t mean the work is done. Holiday times are the worst times for women and children suffering from abuse. That's why the Mothers' Union has the Rise Up campaign 365 days a year.
In public places you will see this poster which will include a phone number which will guide you to help. We support Pennine Domestic Abuse Partneship. (Pdap)

Do not put yourself in danger.

Today is Day 14 of the United Nations 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence and Abuse.
We ask that White Ribbon UK working with men in prison for abuse can change their attitude to women and that fathers can show their sons that abuse is not acceptable.
We need women and men to stand up and say "No More 1in 3".

Day 12 of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence and Abuse .
Ripon Episcopal Area Mothers' Union held a 10 minute Silent Vigil outside the cathedral on Saturday 6 December, followed by a service of Lament and Praise in the cathedral, to draw attention to the 16 Days.
Bishop Anna gave a very moving sermon relating Abuse to the story of the woman who poured expensive ointment over Jesus and was roughly berated by the men present. Jesus rebuked them telling then 'Leave her alone'.

Day 12 of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence.
Abusers have no respect for any individual.
We pray for policy makers and those in positions of authority.
Grant them wisdom and compassion to create laws and policies that protect against gender-based violence and support survivors.

Today is the 9th day of the 16Days of Activism against Gender-based Abuse and Violence. This can include Female Ge***al Mutilation. Many societies practice 'cutting' the girl's ge****ls then stitching them together leaving only a very small or***ce which can lead to many painful health problems.
Mothers' Union works with others to bring healing to such communities fractured by violence and to educate them about the dangers of FGM.
In Rorya in Tanzania they have a safe house to which girls can flee. Here the girls are provided with education and taught tailoring and other sewing skills which will help them to build up a career to provide for themselves or later on add to a family's income.
