Due to the extreme weather conditions the Woodland Trust have asked us to remind all visitors to Elkin Wood that there is strictly

NO CAMPING
NO FIRES
NO BBQs

Please follow these rules for the safety of the woodland, other visitors and yourselves.

If you see anyone using BBQs in Elkin Wood, please call the police.

It started on Friday with 2 massive cannabis dumps on Washbrook Lane at least 100 bags of waste, reported to CCC for removal.
Information of time and car/lorry number plates sent to local police for investigation,
Councillor from our parish council and volunteers removed 30 bags then a member of Wyken Wombles who saw the photo’s and voluntarily came along and dragged the rest of the bags out of the ditch great team work 👏👏👏hopefully street pride will collect it all later today for disposal.

Went along Hollyfast lane last night to discover this enormous dump of Flytipping thrown into the wheat field which the council won’t touch going to be hard work to remove.

Dragged this lot of builders waste out of the hedgerow on Washbrook Lane this afternoon- lovely makes a nice change from cannabis and garage oil 🥴

To those of you concerned about the missing finial on the Allesley parish finger post, corner of Washbrook and Hawkesmill, it seems someone tried to steal it. Luckily a passing cyclist reported it and we will be replacing it this weekend.
