Our Prayer, Coffee Morning and Cue and Brew will go ahead this morning as normal but for the well-being of guests and volunteers, the decision has been taken to cancel our weekly Lunch Club tomorrow due to the Red Weather Warning.

Please, stay hydrated and follow health advice. We look forward to seeing you all again next week! 😊

What's on at Aldridge Methodist Church this week?

Please note, due to the severe high temperature warning, a decision will be made daily about whether to open groups, please check daily for any updates about closures.

As many of our groups open or close during the warmest parts of the day: Please stay hydrated, wear appropriate clothing and travel by transport wherever possible. Please do not put yourself at risk to attend, we will still be there next week.

The wellbeing of our guests and volunteers is our top priority.

Last night, we had the pleasure of attending the volunteer recognition event at Manor Farm Community Association and take three of our wonderful volunteers along to represent our project.

Unfortunately, it wasn't possible to bring everyone, and if I started listing names, I know I would unintentionally miss somebody. What I do want to say is that every single volunteer is important, valued and appreciated. The work they do in the community brings so much happiness and hope to people experiencing loneliness and social isolation.

In a world where people are under increasing pressure, juggling work, family commitments, and the many demands of everyday life, choosing to volunteer is an incredible gift. Our volunteers freely give their time to help others, strengthen communities and make a real difference to people's lives.

Quite simply, without our volunteers, we would not exist. The outreach, support and opportunities we provide would not be possible without their dedication and generosity.

Last night was a chance to celebrate volunteers across the borough, but I want to take this opportunity to thank all of ours. Whether you volunteer regularly, occasionally, behind the scenes or on the frontline, your contribution matters more than you know.

From all of us, thank you. We are grateful for everything you do.

Join us for our Holiday at Home programme at Aldridge Methodist Church, with a range of fun, friendly activities, lunches and entertainment. Unless otherwise stated, all activities are free of charge and open to everyone.

🕙 10:00am – Fun Prize Bingo! (Eyes down at 10:30am)
🍽️ Lunch – Fish & Chip Lunch (please order by 11:30am and pay on the day)
🕜 1:30pm – Games Afternoon featuring a Carpet Boules Tournament

Tuesday 21st July
🕙 10:00am – Craft Morning with Elaine and Beth (no previous experience required – booking required)
🍲 Lunch – Soup and Rolls (booking required)
🕜 1:30pm – Quiz Time!

Wednesday 22nd July
🕧 12:30pm – Lunch Club (advance booking required if you are not an existing member)
🕜 1:30pm – Animals in Hands with Mo! Come along to meet more furry (and not so furry!) friends.
