We were delighted to arrange a visit of The Poppy Factory in Richmond this week for local military veterans.

The Poppy Factory, who also celebrate their centenary year in 2026, welcomed us for a tour and look around the factory. We had the chance to make our own poppies, listen to the history of the factory and see some of the beautiful Poppy wreaths made.

Thank you to all the team at the Poppy Factory for hosting us and our sponsors Charters Group who’s support allows us to be this on at no cost to our Veteran group.

It was a special Veterans’ Hub yesterday as we were hosted by the Aldershot Garrison at the WO’s and Sgts’ Mess.

We were treated to a presentations by the GSM and Garrison Commander around the current operations of the army. Further to that, we enjoyed a delicious curry lunch!

Our next hub is back at the EBB Stadium on Wednesday 30th September. If you’re a local Veteran looking to attend, please get in touch!

The Shots Foundation would like to pass on their thanks and best wishes to Head of Foundation, Jamie MacAllister who will be moving on in mid-September.

Jamie joined us in 2023 and has been the driving force in the growth the Shots Foundation has seen since then. He leaves to take up an exciting opportunity at QPR in the Community Trust. We wish him well.

Jamie will be replaced by our current Disability and Inclusion Officer, Glenn Brailey. As such, we are now hiring for a new post, a Sport and Education Officer, to help grow our reach in local schools.

The Shots Foundation would like to announce some changes to its Board of Trustees.

We are announcing the departure of three existing trustees; Paul Marcus, Shahid Azeem, and Paul Adams. We would like to give them our thanks and appreciation for their dedication and role in the growth of the Shots Foundation in previous years.

We are excited to announce the arrival of four new trustees; Pete O'Shea, Nadia Martin, Vivien Grieve, and Jim Calcutt. We look forward to how they will all contribute to the further growth of the Shots Foundation in the years to come.
