On behalf of the Aldeburgh Carnival team, a massive thank you to everyone who supported us on Monday! To our amazing volunteers and sponsors—we couldn't have done it without you. To everyone who entered the procession, you were all fantastic; it was incredible to see so many creative floats embracing this year's theme. A special mention to our Carnival Queen, Izzy, and her attendants Mabel & Delilah—you all looked beautiful.
​And lastly, to my incredible team: thank you for the endless hours you put in to ensure this event was not only a success, but a safe one. I couldn't do this without every single one of you, and you should all be proud of what we achieved. 🫶

Evening Entertainment and Fabulous Lantern Procession is still FULL STEAM AHEAD! 🏮🏮🏮🏮

Aldeburgh Carnival Fireworks have been cancelled!
The lantern procession will still take place followed by a performance of the Pipe Band at Fisherman's Car Park.
Unfortunately, this decision has been taken out of our hands without any reference to our risk assessment, Fire Service advice, or control measures we had in place to mitigate the risk.
These control measures included:- only proceeding if the wind was in the right direction ie out to sea; only low level fireworks were to be used so that the fallout was within the exclusion zone on the stoney beach; the fireworks were to be angled so they were fired out over the sea; and as an additional measure the Carnival Committee were going to pay for a private fire brigade to be present during and after the fireworks with 5 vehicles including a full sized Fire Engine.
Thank you for your continued support, please enjoy the rest of the Carnival which we've been planning for a year.

For example, a personal training session with local PT Shannon Strowger , a two-day boating voucher for Thorpeness Meare , 2 tickets to a concert from Britten Pears Arts, a horse and carriage ride from Thorpeness Meare, an entry ticket for 2 people to Easton Farm Park and a Fishers Gin tour and tasting experience for 4!!
