We find that GSPs come to us through a variety of circumstances, so we will be here to offer advice and support as we understand that the decision to rehome a GSP is often a heart breaking one. We are able to offer emergency support in urgent cases and recognise the need for discretion in assisting you. When rehoming a GSP, we look at the dog's needs first and foremost. We look at the type of life that suits that particular GSP; to us, every GSP is an individual and we aim to match them with the closest to a perfect home that we can. We will also give that GSP and their owner a lifetime of support. If a change in circumstances means that it needs a new home at any time, we will be there to once again assist in rehoming the GSP. While looking to offer a home to one of our GSPs, please don't get upset if we say that you aren't suitable for a specific GSP. We may be looking for a certain way of life for that GSP and unfortunately you might not be able to offer that certain element. However, you might be perfect for a different GSP in the rescue or even the next GSP to come in to our rescue. After looking at the GSP's needs, we then look at your needs as an adopter. We are committed to ensuring every prospective adopter is treated with respect and kept informed along the journey of adoption. You will be treated on an individual basis, depending on whether you have a family or another dog, what level of experience with our breed that you have and your daily routine. We want the best possible match for both the GSP and the new adopters. Our support will not stop at the adoption and we will give on going support and advice while we are needed. We will also aim to put the new adopter in contact with a local to them GSP trainer and club. This is to assist with the ongoing training and support, for both the new owners and their GSP, with someone who understands and has extensive knowledge of our breed. These organisations have our details and are aware of how our rescue works. GSP Rescue UK respects that there are other organisations which rehome GSPs both in the UK and overseas. The nature of our organisation and the requirements of the Charities’ Commission require us to collaborate willingly with these organisations to support improved welfare of the breed. We look forward to working with you on the welfare of this wonderful breed. GSP Rescue UK team

Good morning,

May we respectfully request that people do not enter into debate on the page as it distracts from our prime objective of finding homes for dogs.

We acknowledge that there is a wide range of opinion on various matters but they are not the views of the charity. They are simply individuals views.

We are a charity and hence restricted on commenting on anything that maybe controversial or political.

We offer assistance with legal requirements by sign posting people to relevant resources.

We offer assistance with training by sign posting people to various training techniques. The owner is responsible for evaluating the various resources and making their own decisions.

Please help us keep this page friendly and devoted to our main purpose of finding homes for dogs in need.

Thank you

26/05/26 Milo has now moved to his new home and is settling in very quickly. He’s a credit to his previous mum and big brother.
Milo is a very handsome 35kg boy who is looking for a new home due to his high prey drive that his owner is finding too difficult to manage.
He is still a youngster at 15 months and still has a lot to learn but he is keen and responsive.
He has been wonderful with the teenage son, they are described as best friends, Milo waits for him to get in from school then races to the trampoline so their fun can begin.
Milo lives with a smaller dogs who he adores, he cuddles up with them at night and they keep each other company when left at home. When they are out on walks Milo can range extensively and can be out of sight for a few minutes before he returns, he is a bird dog and is constantly looking for anything that flies. His recall is good to his name and a whistle in controlled environments but not consistent where there are more interesting things to investigate. He has been walked by a dog walker and is routinely let off lead and recalls to her, he is walked on a Halti and an extendable lead at the moment.
Milo will fetch his toy when asked, he will also fetch his ball and a stick when asked.
Milo is a very cuddly boy who thinks he’s a little lap dog and will attempt to curl right up on your lap.
His owner doesn’t think he would settle at a kennel because he likes to be around his people so much. He does whine at the beginning of a car journey but his owner finds him better if he’s had exercise first.
Milo is currently fed with a mixture of a raw meal and a puppy kibble which he enjoys. He is vaccinated and up to date with wormer and flea treatments. He is not yet neutered due to his young age.
Milo is very good with other dogs out on walks and just wants to play. He would probably chance cats given a chance. He is fine around adult horses and cows, he hasn’t met sheep or young animals so his reactions are unknown. He did manage to catch a muntjac that was in the same field as him, his owner managed to get to quickly and get him away and the muntjac ran off unharmed.
He hadn’t been around very young children but is wonderful with the teenager that he lives with.
If you feel you have the time and experience to train this lovely young fella please contact us.
Milo is currently in the King’s Langley area and will be rehomed with his 5 weeks free Agria Insurance and his Adoption Contract.

16/05/26. Lovely Lottie has been offered a wonderful home with a family that lost their lovely GSP and have a GSP shape hole in their hearts.
Thank you to everyone that considered Lovely Lottie and offered her such wonderful homes.

Lottie is a gorgeous 10 year old much loved girl, who is sadly looking for a new home due to her owners ill health.
Lottie has been in this home since a puppy and has had many lovely holidays and adventures with her owner.
She is currently staying with relatives but this can only be a temporary measure and they tell us that out on a walk she is calm and relaxed, she can walk to heel and has a good recall, she’s walked on a standard collar and lead with no problems. Meeting other dogs and new people Lotties not had any issues, she is used to being walked by a dog walker so is happy with anyone walking her, she’s just happy to be out walking.
Around the cats and livestock that they’ve encountered Lottie hasn’t been a problem and hasn’t shown any obvious issues.
She hasn’t lived with children and hasn’t met any small children with the couple, with older children she’s met they’ve introduced her cautiously but Lottie hasn’t been fazed.
Lottie is a great traveller and can easily do 3 hours while snoozing. At home she has been left for up to 4 hours after exercise and food, she was quiet and calm and just slept on her bed.
Lottie is a happy healthy girl who no one expected to be in the position of looking for a new home, but if you could offer this beautiful girl a happy ever after please contact us.
Lottie is currently in Honiton near Exeter and will be rehomed with her 5 weeks free Agria insurance and her Adoption Contract.

THANK YOU 🐾🐾 to the AMAZING people who offered Ebony a home while she had her puppies we appreciate it more than you know. 🐾🐾
A decision has been made today with Ebony’s interests first and foremost by her lovely adopters who are going to keep her at home with them so that she can welcome the puppies in her own home. They are very grateful for all the help and support from friends, the GSP community and our rescue team and they are busy getting things ready for their arrival. 🐾🐾🐾🐾

It’s a fantastic outcome for Ebony and we will keep you all updated on her progress. 💜🐾🐾

URGENT ‼️
We know this is a big ask but we are in a desperate situation with one of our newly adopted GSPs, having just found out that she’s pregnant.
We need to find an experienced surrogate fosterer who could look after her while she has her puppies and until they are weaned.
We believe that the father of the pups is a miniature Dachshund and the scan showed that there is a small litter who could be arriving in the next week or two.
It’s all happened very quickly and left us all including her adopters in shock.
If anyone feels that they could help with this lovely GSP please get in touch as soon as possible.
We won’t be answering questions about the puppies at this time, this post is about finding someone to help the mum. 💜

Thank you for sharing this post to help her and us. 💜🐾🐾

08/05/26 Ebonys owner has withdrawn lovely Ebony. We wish Ebony lots of luck and hope she has the wonderful life she deserves. 🥰🥰
02/05/26 Ebony’s owners are really struggling with her separation anxiety, it would be lovely to find her a home quickly so that she doesn’t have to feel so anxious. 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽🐾🐾

Beautiful Ebony has just turned 8 years of age. She is a healthy, gentle, affectionate girl who sadly is struggling after losing her mother, who she’s lived with her entire life a few months ago. She gets very anxious when left alone now and barks, whines and chews things. Her owner works full time and takes her to work where she stays in his van but she’s getting very stressed with this too. Her owners had to take her out for a meal recently where she had to stay in the car and they kept checking on her because she would have been even more stressed if left at home.
Out on walks Ebony walks beautifully on lead and has a great recall to her owner calling her name. She also loves to play fetch and will play for ages.
She can be unpredictable when meeting some dogs, possibly because she’s always had her mum around to do the introductions so feels threatened by some dogs so can growl and get snappy. She does visit a dog several nights a week and is very happy having the terrier around, even at bedtime with the terrier sleeping on the owners bed Ebony is happy to sleep in the bedroom on her own bed, they are great friends and the terrier who recently had puppies trusted Ebony to mother them and help take care of them, Ebony was a wonderful helper with them being very sweet and gentle with them.
She’s is also an excellent traveller and is very happy with her people in the car.
She hasn’t been around small children but with the teenagers she sees regularly she’s lovely and will very happily snooze of an evening with her head on their laps on the sofa. She does love affection and sofa cuddles and her owner says that she would cuddle on the sofa all day given the chance.
Ebony doesn’t like cats and would chase, she hasn’t met livestock so her reactions are unknown. She’s fed kibble once a day and her owner says that she isn’t fussy and will eat anything.
If you have the time to spend with this lovely girl and a sofa big enough for cuddles please contact us
Ebony is currently in Builth Wells and will be rehomed with her 5 weeks free Agria insurance and her Adoption contract.

21/04/2026

Archie is a very handsome 5 year old male who’s finding life with two children under 3 years and a house move, very stressful. His owners feel that the household has become too loud and chaotic for him and they no longer have the time to constantly redirect and exhaust him with canine enrichment activities .
Archie has shown obsessive behaviours with the need to chase the light reflections (e.g. sunlight coming through the curtains, reflection from a phone or metal, etc.). He whines and jumps at them,
sometimes barking. They think it was triggered by a laser their son was playing with in a car, but this only lasted 5 minutes until they realised it was causing an issue, so are only guessing that this could be to blame.
He is raw fed due to allergies according to a specialist, but he only ever
tested for environmental factors. It’s believed that he’s allergic to dust mites and this improved massively when his owners
changed the carpets to hard floors.
Archie is fine to be left for a few hours with access to the hallway and landings and after exercise he happily snoozes on his bed.
He is fine at home with a cat but will chase out in a walk.
With other dogs on a walk he can be unpredictable, most of the time he is okay but his owner doesn’t let him engage in play as he can take it too far on times. He has a good recall to his owner and to his dog walker 3 short whistles/peeps with one long one to lay down. He also knows sit, down, touch and catch.
Ocassionally, he won't like a dog his owner explains and particularly disliked a Vizsla that used to live near them.
Since he was a puppy Archie has been living with young children aged 3 months, 2 years and 11 years, when the children are around he gets very over excited starts barking and chasing looking anxious.
Archie has stayed with family members who were older and calmer and he thrived, he was more relaxed and settled quickly.
With this in mind we will be looking for a calmer child free home - possibly with visiting children, potentially home workers or part time workers.
A week ago Archie tore his tendon so is spending time resting/healing in his crate. The vets have considered giving him a mild sedative to relax him while he’s resting because of his light/shadow fixation.
If you feel you could offer this handsome fella a calmer environment please contact us.
Archie is currently in the Oxford area and will be rehomed with his 5 weeks free Agria insurance and his Adoption Contract.
