Former Inverbervie Firefighter and Sub Officer Willie Petrie sadly passed away last week. Willie served at Inverbervie for 34 years, he was a station stalwart and by all accounts enjoyed dressing up as Santa for the Santa fire engine.

The Inverbervie crew would like to express their sincere condolences to his family. Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

The Inverbervie Crew (and Santa, who knew he was such a good singer?) would like to thank everyone in Inverbervie, Gourdon and Johnshaven for coming out to see us last Tuesday night and for your generous donations.

We collected £542.71 and have added this to our total of £300 yet to be donated to local charity’s and organisations. We will be doing this early in th new year.

The crew will be on call throughout the festive period and would like to wish everyone an enjoyable Christmas and peaceful New Year.

Reminder of timings for Santa Fire Engine tonight:

1800 -1830 outside fire station then onto Castlelodge
1850 - Johnshaven, outside The Anchor
1920/30- Gourdon Harbour & drive around Gourdon
1950 - Brighead
2000 - 2130 - West Park, Townhead, Queen Johanna

Timings may slip, so bear with us. We will update as we go.

🚒🎅🏻🎄Santa Fire Engine - Tuesday 16 December 2025

It’s that time of year again folks. Santa is giving up some of his time during the busiest time of his year to join the Bervie Crew to spread some Christmas cheer and help collect some donations for local causes.
Santa and the Crew will be starting at Bervie Fire Station at 1800 so please come along and meet us. We will then be making the following stops:

1800 -1830 outside station then onto Castlelodge
1850 - Johnshaven, outside The Anchor
1920/30- Gourdon Harbour & drive around Gourdon
1950 - Brighead
2000 - 2130 - West Park, Townhead, Queen Johanna

Timings may be subject to slight change but we will update here if we are running late or get a shout.

Last night we presented the Johnshaven Community First Responders with charity money we have collected over the last year at various events including the Santa Fire Engine. Accepting our donation were Community First Responders John Aitchison and Amanda MacPherson. This money will go towards a new Automated External Defibrillator.
John and Amanda are both former on-call colleagues at the station and kindly brought some cake with them.
