Some local history of Esperanto.
Aberdeen’s had on-and-off Esperanto groups for over a century.
The first society was set up in 1904, however was no longer officially listed with the British esperanto Association by 1907.
After WWI in 1919, it pops up again as an affiliated group, though it's not clear if the group carried on after the 20's. Fast forward to 2012, another group with the same name appeared online but went quiet by 2014. Now, after 11 years of inactivity as far as we can tell, we've started the Aberdeen Esperanto Association to revitalise the language in Aberdeen.
