What an incredible afternoon we had at Comm Con 2025 last weekend! 💫
A massive shout-out to The Ghostbusters of Aberdeen, Crazy Frank’s Ecto, Fraserburgh Clone Trooper, Archie and The Archie Foundation, Dorry the Dolphin (aka Emma Marshall & Rachel Yeates), Marshall (aka Steven Smith), Chewbacca (aka Steven again!), Bunny Pipkin, Triple Ace's, Geek Retreat Aberdeen, all of whom volunteered their time so generously to support local charities and give back to the community. Thank you to our volunteers, Leila Catherine Turner-Smith, Theo Smith, Martin Greig, Andrew Murray, Jon Reid, Gill Redman, Gordon Fettes, Iain McKenzie, Ray Smith, Sarah Catherine Cook, James Cook, Nathan Murray, Olivia Murray, Karen Finch, Will Rae, Kelly Anderson, Neil Lawrie, Lauren Thom, Sally Cattanach & Ellie. 💙 The day simply wouldn’t have been possible without the time, energy, and kindness of our amazing volunteers. From setting up and welcoming guests, to keeping things running seamlessly and tidying up afterwards — you made the whole event truly special. Special shout out to Caroline Maclean at Airyhall Community Centre, the 9th Aberdeen Scout Group, Dylan Henderson and Gayle Thomson for the last-minute “save the days!”.
To the charities and community groups who joined us — many of which are also volunteer-led — thank you for everything you do and for making a lasting difference in our community every single day. Volunteering is the heartbeat of our community and helps strengthen the bonds that make our community so unique. Know that each and every one of you is appreciated.
