CHANGE DAY TIME
Next week due to family commitments we shall be walking in our group on WEDNESDAY THE 2ND Instd of TUESDAY the 1st
Same time
Same place
Just different day

Another week, another walk. 🚶‍♂️
With one of our regulars away enjoying his holiday, we were joined this week by Darren, who shared some great stories from his days in the forces — including some of the antics he used to get up to!

Well over an hour walking this Tuesday just gone, and honestly, it didn’t feel like we’d been out that long at all. Time just seemed to fly by.

It’s simply a group of blokes having a walk around Aberdare, with absolutely no commitment or pressure to share anything. Just getting out, having a chat, and enjoying a bit of time away from the norm.

What started out as a duo has now grown into a quarter, and who knows where it will go from here.

I don’t know exactly what it is about these walks, but I really look forward to that time away from everyday life — just being outdoors, “shooting the breeze” and spending time with like-minded blokes.

Sometimes, you don’t need to overthink it. Just put your boots on, get outside and walk. 👊

Men rarely ask for help outright—it usually shows up in subtle ways. Going quiet, pulling back, or taking on too much without complaining.

The truth is, every bloke needs a place where he doesn't have to carry the weight alone. A place where he can drop the mask, talk if he wants to, or just walk in good company if he doesn't.

If any of these resonate with you, know that you’re not the only one feeling this way.

Take the first step and come walk with us this week. Free, informal, and open to all men 18+. 👣

Hi all 👋
Just wanted to share this link with you all. It brings together a variety of different support platforms that are available to everyone.

If you’re feeling a little lost, struggling with direction in life, looking for some guidance, or simply feel like you need to check in with someone, there are some really useful resources available.

Throughout his work within Mental Health, Gareth has built up some amazing partnerships with organisations that each offer their own form of support — from drinks and supplements, to 1-to-1 coaching, and even clothing and training essentials.

There’s also a link to Gareth’s own story, sharing his life journey and how he got to where he is today.

Sometimes, reaching out or simply knowing that support is there can make all the difference. ❤️

Please feel free to have a look and share the link with anyone who you think may benefit from it.

A Productive Week, and Already Planning the Next 🚶‍♂️
Well, another productive week has come to a close for our little group, and we’re already planning the next one.
I’m not sure where the time goes these days, and that’s exactly why I feel it’s important that we continue to push, promote and meet up every week for a casual stroll around our lovely area.

Sometimes we just need to press that pause button and take a step off the wheel of life. Put an hour aside, get some fresh air, have a walk and a chat with like-minded blokes.

No hidden agendas. No steering. No expectations.

Just a men’s walking group. Nothing more, nothing less.

As I’ve mentioned before, men’s mental health is something that’s still very much on my mind. But by building a men’s walking group, we’re creating a safe space — a bunch of lads, a group of friends — where, if someone ever needs to share something, there will be people there willing to listen, without judgement.

Last week we talked about everything and anything — from sunsets up in Scotland, to family holidays, and even discovering parts of our own country park that some of us had never seen before!

So, if you fancy a walk, a chat and a bit of time away from the usual routine, why not come along?

Walk around the country park and the “old lines”, get the dog out, meet a few good lads and simply enjoy being outside.

No sign-ups. No pressure. No asks.

Just turn up, get out of the house and have a walk.

Sometimes an hour is all we need. 👍🚶‍♂️

Sometimes, as men, we’re taught to keep things bottled up. To be strong, to stay quiet, and to deal with everything on our own.

But talking doesn’t make you weak. It makes you human.

Here on their first ‘Manopause’ podcast, James Jordan and Brenden Coles talk to their first special guest Wynne Evans about his mental health issues. A new Manopause podcast will be released every Thursday

Hi Craig started the text… “What time are you guys meeting next week? My husband is interested…”
Following a bit of back and forth, I know that someone new can feel nervous or anxious, so I offered a pre-meet-up to see if it was for him. No pressure at all — just a chance to meet, have a chat and see what the group is all about.
What followed this evening was probably one of the most rewarding walks, but also one full of giggles, stories and memories from old times along the way.
So, if you’re thinking about coming along on your own and feeling a little anxious, just drop me a message. We can meet up beforehand, have a chat and set the vibe. It’s absolutely no problem to me.
Sometimes it’s better to dip your toes in when you’re trying a new routine. 😊
So, thank you to Jeanette for the text and for the trust — and especially thank you to Di for what turned into a walk full of stories, laughter and giggles.
See you next week, champ. It’s been a pleasure! ❤️

Going into this week’s walking group, I found myself in a very vulnerable position.
Physically and mentally, my head just wasn’t in the game. I’m still suffering with an ongoing health issue and, if I’m honest, I was thinking, “Is this week for me?”
Strange how things can change though. As soon as Kia and Brian rocked up, I suddenly felt like, yeah, I can do this.
Within minutes of setting off, I found myself in a really good place. Yes, the body was struggling, but the mind felt so much better.
Like I touched on last week, the group is shifting its focus. It’s becoming less about how far we walk or what we achieve, and more about simply getting lads together for a catch-up, a walk and a few laughs.
As a group, we’ve decided that the main reason for meeting each week is simple:
Get out of the house for an hour.Meet up with friends.Have a bit of a laugh.Get some fresh air and enjoy each other’s company.
And by building that dynamic each week, the benefits and rewards naturally follow.
So, if you find yourself with an hour to spare and nothing to do, why not pop along?
And if you know a Dad, Grandad, Brother, Son, Uncle — or even a mate — who could do with a new routine, an hour away from the house, some gentle exercise and the company of a group of lads who enjoy a walk and a good laugh…
Bring them along.
Sometimes, that one hour can make a bigger difference than you realise. ❤️

So same time
Same place next week
We be there

Posts to follow later in week with meeting points etx

Have a good week all
Stay safe and keep talking
❤️💙
