Beyond happy to welcome Laura Kaminsky as our newest advisor. “With an ear for the new and interesting” (The New York Times), Laura

musical language that is “full of fire as well as ice, contrasting dissonance and violence
with tonal beauty and meditative reflection.” (American Record Guide). Her first
opera, As One (co-librettists Mark Campbell and Kimberly Reed) is the most produced
contemporary opera since its 2014 premiere, with 60+ productions internationally.
Other operas: Some Light Emerges and Today It Rains (Campbell & Reed); Hometown
to the World (Kimberly Reed); Finding Wright (Andrea Fellows Fineberg); February

Excited to welcome Derival Jean Philip Junior as our development manager for Paris! I’m truly thrilled to be working with him. We go way back to high school, where we spent hours discussing French, Haitian literature and poetry—while also competing for the top grades. After reconnecting in Paris in 2023, he’s been an incredible support. Welcome to the team (though, let’s be honest, we’ve been a team since 2006)!

Happy to welcome Anne LeBaron to our advisory board. She is a bright soul and a great composer with many years if experience. Anne will cheering us in LA. 🙏🏾. “The compositions of experimental composer Anne LeBaron have been performed around the globe. Venues in Italy, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Austria, Sweden, Kazakhstan, Russia, the U.S, and elsewhere have programmed her works for chamber ensemble, orchestra, opera, and chorus. Additionally, for the past five decades, she has performed internationally as a ground-breaking harpist. Major awards include the Alpert Award in the Arts, a Fromm Foundation commission, a Guggenheim, a Fulbright, NEA grants, and artist residencies at Bogliasco and Bellagio. Crescent City, one of her operas celebrating legendary female figures, features voodoo icon Marie Laveau. Her first opera, Blue Calls Set You Free (a more compact version of the large-scale The E. & O. Line foregrounding the mythological figure Eurydice), was performed in 2024 as part of a Russian festival celebrating women composers of opera. Sucktion, a monodrama for soprano and vacuum cleaner, was recently presented by Open Gate Theater in Pasadena. She is currently completing L*D: Huxley’s Last Trip, an opera that includes many of the instruments built by Harry Partch; several scenes have been performed at REDCAT. Her multi-year project, The Heroine with a Thousand Faces, honors women across the globe with musical portraits. LeBaron taught in the Experimental Sound Practices and Music Composition Program at CalArts for twenty-two years, where she was awarded the status of Professor Emerita upon her retirement in 2024.“
